So where do Pandaren, who get the Rogue ability to ignore most fall damage for free, fit in? Where are the swarms of rerolls from people switching to da bears to negate the "knock people 30 yards into the air so they take 30% fall damage" mechanics that pop up 2 or 3 times each expansion?
Figured it's worth checking since Warriors and Hunters and such don't normally get to avoid half of their fall damage, because it's a perk that's completely balanced around Rogues, after all.
confirmed by my uncle nitnendo and masahiro samurai
Nope. They are not balanced at all around "preventing death by falling". Because the fact those abilities can prevent fall death is incidental and not the intended use of those abilities.
Still wrong. Dracthyr racial abilities are racial abilities, and evoker class abilities are class abilities. There is a clear separation.Every Dracthyr racial is an Evoker class ability as long as Dracthyr are tied to only that class.

So the ability Disengage isn't a consideration when balancing the Hunter class? Heroic Leap isn't considered when balancing the Warrior class? The ability Blink isn't considered when balancing Mages?
Hilarious.
Which is why some of those Dracthyr racial abilities have talents attached to them just like class abilities in the CLASS talent tree right? Where's the separation?Still wrong. Hilarious are your failed attempts at strawmanning. I never said that abilities such as Disengage, Heroic Leap and Blink aren't considered for balancing their respective classes. I simply pointed out that those abilities' uses to negate fall damage are not influential in class balance.
Those abilities do WAY more than just "negate fall damage": heroic leap is a gap closer and deals damage. Disengage creates a gap between the hunter and their target. So does Blink. "Negating fall damage" are not the reason those abilities exist.
Their ability tags. Their position in the character's spellbook:Which is why some of those Dracthyr racial abilities have talents attached to them just like class abilities in the CLASS talent tree right? Where's the separation?

Goblins can get Rocket Jump to avoid the lava. Nerf Goblins.
But your duty to Azeroth is not yet complete. More is demanded of you... a price the living cannot pay.
Well considering few people play Dracthyr as it is, having Glide be an incentive would be a good thing. The whole purpose of opening up class combos is to increase their population choices after all, otherwise Blizzard could just keep em exclusive and throw all incentives like Glide and Wing Buffet onto the class rather than as a racial.
I mean, "Blizzard takes all class abilities into account when balancing classes" is both something nobody actually knows unless Blizzard class designers come out and talk about it, and also seemingly incorrect on the surface. There are a wide variety of abilities which have little to zero impact on combat, and thus wouldn't be included in any serious discussion about class balance. Hunter: [Eyes of the Beast], Priest: [Mind Vision], Mage: Portals/Teleports/[Illusion], just to name a few examples.
DH's don't have [Glide] because they'd be underpowered without it. They have it because it's thematic to the fact that DH's have wings.

Yes. They nerfed Goblin racials when people were race swapping to Goblins for Kil'Jaeden m ToS.
They nerfed trolls when guilds were transferring Horde and picking troll for Beastslaying giving them +5% damage in heroic ToT
They did nothing for over a decade when 60% of all alliance PvPers chose Human for EMfH for a free trinket
Surprised that this didn't make the front page.

so at face value they get everything but Monk and Demon Hunter but some of these could also be to facilitate using toys to transform into them (If you do it now on any class you'll notice quick they kinda T-Pose). I feel Monk is definitely coming since all classes can be Monks these days so no reason why not. Hell of those on there the only one I find hard to believe would be DKs unless we get some weird lore that the Ebon Blade went nuts and raised the Sundered Flame as DKs. Hell having Sarkareth come back as a Death Knight wouldn't be something I'd oppose.
A few of the Sundered Flame learning shamanism isn't far fetched. Dractyr have green dragon in them and already can shapeshift so Druid is very possible, Also a few reaching out to the paladin orders plus a holy dragon knight fantasy could totally work.
3 Major Rules of World of Warcraft Players:
1. No one on earth wants to play World of Warcraft less than other World of Warcraft players.
2. The desire to win>The desire for anything else in World of Warcraft. NO EXCEPTIONS
3. Efficiency will be king no matter how you think it will improve the game.
I'm really super doubtful that they include the Hover with these other classes. Although I would love this i think there would be some balance issues
Blizzard nerfed Dracthyr racials for non-Evokers.
Hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. I also fully expect further nerfs to come, especially around Glide which has already been nerfed for non-Evoker Dracthyr, but has a good chance of being removed entirely for non-Evokers. Stay tuned.
