Since arachnophobes are a thing, wouldn't folks be triggered by spider people as a race?

That's highly unlikely to happen. The "evolved" forms are seen as a bad thing by the nerubian faction we will "befriend" (or at least fight alongside with) against the "evolved" Nerubian queen.

I'm not saying playable nerubians are likely in the first place, but that's the kind of lack of imagination I never understand on these forums. If the developers want to do playable nerubians they'll contrive a reason to make it work.

Some could be transformed against their will and rebel, some could learn to find balance with the Void, etc.

It's a simple thing to justify.

It definitely seems to be leaning towards that, as a bunch get transformed against their will during questing, and Voss even talks about how if there's anything left of their queen after her being forcibly mutated they should try to save her (unclear if that pans out) but since they don't make pheromones they might be in a weird middleground where some decide to live with the Horde/Alliance because it's 'awkward' among their own people.

Which is why I said 'unlikely', not 'impossible'. I recognize there is a possibility, but I also recognize the high improbability of it happened because of all that has been shown and told to us about the "evolved" nerubians.

And your idea for their addition as a playable race would also anger high elf fans, as the "evolved" nerubian population would be very, very small, most likely smaller than the HE population who were constantly denied its existence as its own playable race due to 'low population' too.

So at the 1:01 mark on that video, you see an Evolved Nerubian turn/transform into a Crypt Lord.

    That's quite interesting.

I mean, what more do we need. Evolved nerubian/Crypt Lord race-class confirmed.

What would arachnophobia setting do for such a race/class??

    Crab person/crab class?

    Not happening imo.

Arachnophobes should not be coddled about this sort of thing. It's been proven that prolonged exposure to a phobia can help to successfully overcome that phobia. The more spiders the game throws at them, the quick they'll get over it.

Those humanoid spiders hardly look like any spider i have ever seen. And crypt lords are just beetles, so again, not a subject of arachnophobia. Even before blizz announced the crab filter, i saw literally no thread about people asking Blizz for it. I think this issue is overblown and not many arachnophobes are scared of pixelated spider people.

I actually agree, minus the face. Cells form here stands and almost moves the same way.

Worst advice ever instead just say "if their phobia is getting out of hand they need to see a specialist" it would be wiser because when i worked in psychiatry (before getting tired of dealing with bullshit like that) one of the main reasons people mental health was getting out of hand was because they listened to the bad advice given to them by people who overestimated their knowledge of human psychology because they read some shit somewhere in a magazine or on the internet and this could often lead to some people having to do a long therapy instead of a way shorter one or even worst having to take medication for the duration of their live.

To stay on Topic if Arachnophobia was even considered a tiny bit in wow the nerubians or those spiders boss/mobs we had in the past wouldn't exist at all or we would had an options in the "accessibility" panel to change the skin of every spiders.
So if Nerubians never become an allied race in the future it would certainly not be because of that.
