Most recipes that require notes also require gemstones. Why would people burn their gemstones, Anet? Whoever made that recipe didn't even bother to ask the person next to them if it made sense.

feels like the 15 people left working on gw2 are getting worked to the bone.
next expansion seems like it'll drop in late october based on the timeline for the wizards vault
seeing some initial impressions that the story is a lot like the ending to SotO in that it's a bit of a wet fart
i dunno if i'm even gonna be here for the next expansion, my interest/hype has completely evaporated with this latest format, but i should probably finish the story/update before making a final call
No voice files.
Bland story.
Bland characters.
Boring demons.
Ugh. GW2 had better in the past. Shame.
voice is excusable at least - Anet can't do anything about the ongoing voice actor strike (and i fully support the actors)
Finished up the last bit of the last update, lol, and now onto this update. New zone seems...alright so far, a bit frustrating with the little blocked off areas. Need to do the meta, which apparently has a proper cutscene ending if you interrupt the boss all three times.
Heard not-good things about yet another rushed ending with big late additions that are left totally unexplored, will see for myself in a few days.
My kingdom for Anet to make some actually smaller-scale/stakes expansions. This yearly format is perfect for smaller stories or for taking more time with a narrative arc over multiple years or something, but Anet is trying to mash a big, world-ending threatening story into functionally 3 hours of story spread across a year and it just does not fucking work at all. Especially with how dogshit they've always been at ending a story.
I dig GW2's world and I love some of the characters. But I can't stand the new cast from Wizard's Vault. The story feels shallow, generic, some characters are straight up unlikable, and I can't seem to get invested in this thing.
Also, for the first time, GW2 feels...cheap. The base game, HoT and PoF elevated Guild Wars 2 to one of my favourite games of all time during 2013~2020, and whatever we are getting now feels lame, unfinished, boring and without any trace of love. I like some of the new quality of life stuff and the gameplay is still fun, but I don't see myself picking GW2 over any of the numerous other live service games that are on the market if they keep this format in the future.
I didn't even buy Janthir Wilds (I really hated SOTO), but a friend gave it to me as a gift, so I played through it. Started strong, ended really poorly IMO.
Really hoping for a more interesting approach in the next expansions, or just straight up Guild Wars 3.
Gameplay wise, I've actually had a blast with SOTO and JW. I'm also someone who pretty just logins in to raid, fractals, and crafting legendaries. The story? I stopped caring halfway through SOTO. Janthirs story is unfortunately hindsred by the strike and I'm not trying to read the story via the chatbox, this game has never closed captions for decades. Weird Anet hasn't just ate the dev time and did it considering how forward thinking they normally are.
A lot of my more open world oriented guildies are doing collections from older expansions or chasing some skins that are part of achievements.
Actually there's a character I do like. Stoic Adder or whatever his name is is just hilarious from a design standpoint. He is slow, long winded, and it's like everyone else around him is thinking, alright my guy, I don't want to be rude but wrap it up.
Also they announced the next expansion will be delayed in a blog post a few months back. It will still come out this year but I don't remember when. Not sure if the timer that's on the Wizard Vault is correct or not.
That GW2 """trailer""" during SGF was absolutely terrible.
Anet's marketing team is beyond salvation at this point. Christ.
GW2 marketing has always been hilarious. Pretty sure the SGF is straight from NCSoft though. Anets in-house stuff is different. Still not particularly good but you can tell.
I probably spent more time on my second monitor while he and some others were talking than I did paying attention to th VO. Just caught up via the text, I don't have 5 minutes to listen to Stoic Alder or wahtever say 2 fucking sentences.
I'm fine with the expansion delay, think it's targeting an end of October launch based on the duration of this Wizard's vault.
I'll finish up the story and story achievement, get my smaller batch of Wizard's Vault rewards (I don't care about Lego starters or ascended gear anymore. Never gonna make a Lego weapon anyways, probably. If anything I'll slowly tinker away at more pieces of the Lego armor from SotO, but probably will do what I did after the last update which was just not log in until there's something new again : /
If the meta had like...a big boss fight the zone might actually be pretty cool. But the abrupt ending just feels kinda bad to what is otherwise a pretty good meta, even if it largely feels like a stripped down and slightly improved meta from Dragon's Stand that just ends in the chambers before you fight the actual Mouth of Mordremoth.
