Remix, best approach for transmog framing?

So far I skipped Remix because I recently returned to retail and I have fun on it so not much free time left. Hovewer I would like to get many mounts and transmog from Remix so I just created character on it and wanna focus on getting as much transmog gear as fast as possible.

I did not follow Remix news and basically don't know much about it. So I wonder do you guys have some tips how to play efficently when focusing on getting transmog and I don't really care about anything else and don't wanna spend alot of time on it?

Whats the usual "routine" for farming all the curency required for the gear and mounts?

If you want to buy a lot of stuff, then what you want to do is create one character as your remix main and focus on him. Your goal is to reach level 70 and max out his gear. Do not spend any bronze on cosmetics until he is fully maxxed out. During levelling, do not spend your bronze upgrading gear, instead buy the tinker/meta/cogwheel gems, and then but prismatic gems to jack up your crit/haste/mastery. For example, if you play Frost DK then you can attain 90% crit rate where your killing machine is always proccing so you are pressing Obliterate nonstop, which means you aee always capped on runic power and can maintain infinite Breath of Sindragosa too.

At level 70, go do every dungeon and scenario on heroic difficulty to get your rings and trinkets, then go use group finder to do all five MoP raids on normal difficulty to get your necklace.

Then every day, you just do your daily routine: kill all world bosses for legendary threads to power up your cloak (from Shrine fly to Sha of Anger, fly to Oondasta, use Meteor Chip to get off of Isle of Giants back to mainland and mount back up, fly north of Timeless Isle and airdrop in on Ordos, fall down and kill Celestial, meteor chip back to mainland, fly to Galleon, then go kill Nalak). Most of your power comes from your gear, but once you are at max ilevel the only way to continue powering up is by getting threads, which add up over time. Accept the three daily quests at shrine. Do your daily normal dungeon, heroic dungeon, normal scenario, and heroic scenario. Try to queue as tank or healer if you can for instant pop, especially if you are max geared as you can just solo the instance in a couple minutes. Then you just do the five heroic raids, or at least as much of them as you can per day. The first heroic three raids take a total of 30 minutes to do so you should always do them every day. If you are willing to spend another hour and a half then you can do heroic ToT and heroic SoO for more bronze. You can actually farn SoO each day on all four difficulties (LFR, nornal, heroic, and mythic) but heroic gives you the most bronze for the least amount of time invested so only do that one rather than go insane. If you cannot join a group then make your own group. Get at least 3 or 4 players with 430+ ilevel to carry the group, once you have them then you can fill with whatever and just go. You do not need healers or tank specs in MoP remix as people have so much HP and leech and self healing via lifestorm, and with 430+ geared people bosses die before you really need to worry about anything.

Do this routine every day and spend all of your bronze on gearing up. Once maxxed gear then you spend the bronze you earn on cosmetics. The reason why you gear up first is that so you can do your daily routine faster (speedrunning dungeons in 2 minutes, burning down heroic bosses faster) and so that you can get into heroic raids faster. Note that you won't begin to feel the payoff of upgrading your gear until you are nearly maxxed, then you become exponentially more powerful.

Also, people who were playing from the beginning and focused on gearing up are finishing up buying everything they wanted and aren't playing anymore, which means the pool of players to carry people who neglected their gear to buy cosmetics is becoming smaller, which means it takes those players longer to farm bronze, even if you are just levelling alts through dungeons as instead of a max geared player clearing in 2 minutes you instead have to spend 15 doing it the old fashioned way. You need a LOT of bronze to buy everything, which means a lot of farming and you want to farm as fast as possible because this time adds up. This is why you need to gear up yourself. Unless you have a very small shopping list, then the longer you wait then the harder it is going to be.

Level multiple characters to 70, there is 40k guarantee from doing that, you can easily get the same amount from leveling in raids/dungeons quests, so by then you have at least 100k

  4. #4
Two ways: you can either chain level new chars (60-70k bronze gained when dinging 70) or use just one char upgrading all its gear to run heroic/mythic raids as often as you can.

If you want Mannoroths shoulders and heirloom weapons you have to at least kinda pimp a char to get into SoO heroic, it gives more bones.

Do not waste bronze on gems/tinker/meta/cogwheels. You get lots of them anyway. Totally a waste of resources to buy them.

According to this spreadsheet 1613500 bronze is needed to buy everything.

Thats alot of grinding if someone wanna buy most of the sets and mounts. Shame that Blizzard could not make those prices lower, after all it should be some fun event and not some gigantic grindfest :/

Keep in mind a lot of the gear transmog includes green and blue armor sets that you may likely not want anyway. Additionally, they drop as items you get in the remix anyway so you'll probably naturally complete a fair amount of them. I've not had to buy any of the green or blue ones because I've just naturally accumulated them as I played.

The fastest route to bronze acquisition is to level a lot of alts. You get 40k in bonus bronze for each alt, in addition to whatever you make while leveling and doing the dailies along the way. If you don't care about farming bones for the heirlooms and the Tusks, this is what you should do. Make sure you do all the instance dailies (scenario, dungeon, and raid when you qualify) every day on each of them; it gives a lot of bronze. You can even make extra alts just to do the dailies each day; they are fast and you can pick up a couple sets a day per character doing this.

If you want the heirlooms and Tusks, you should have a "main" that you only spend their bronze on upgrading so you can get into heroic and eventually mythic raids. It's over half a million bronze spent upgrading, though, so it's a big bronze sink if you don't care about those things. Running non LFR raids is a good source of bronze though, and something you can really only do once upgraded.

Amplifying this. I would absolutely not waste bronze buying the shit that drops like candy when you're going to need a lot of bronze to get everything you want.

"Everything" includes all of the drops from the whole mists of pandaria expansion.
If you want just the event only stuff it's only like 100k bronze.

If you want to buy absolutely everything then its a ton of bronze to farm, but if you concentrate on the exclusive stuff its a lot less. There are a few exclusive armor sets and tier sets that haven't been fully available for everyone (t14). All the throne and siege sets can be farmed outside of remix at any time by any class so i wouldn't stress about them too much.

Get like 11k a day per level 70 for doing the daily quests+ 1st run of dungeon/ scenario a day (not even including the 40k+ for levelling)

Got all the mounts/toys. Just got a few transmogs left (for classes i don't actually play)

Hopefully they do this again for other expansions so i can fill in gaps over the years.

As people pointed out, that includes a lot of the really steep prices like mounts that are still farmable in game.

Like id suggest just parking a few normal toons at the Sha of anger and kill him daily until the mount drops and move to the next while the event is still active. Don't waste the bronze.

I'd also skip the insanity of upgrading gear if you don't care about the two titles from killing all heroic raids and mythic garrosh and just want the cosmetics. Pug MSV when you can after level 25 daily because you'll get extra exp gained levels on your cape for every boss you kill, making it far faster to get to 70. Rinse and repeat with a new character to get the bronze from leveling again and just keep doing that. It's a bit mind numbing but it's not too bad.

If you want the titles too though, you'll have to upgrade your gear.

It is worth noting, however, that the stuff that isn't exclusive to remix does have the distinct advantage of being usable across that armor class and isn't locked to a particular class. Some of these sets have offset pieces to allow players to do this on live, but my understanding is not all of them. So if it is appealing to use that priest tier on your warlock, it might still be worth purchasing the set from the vendor.

But yes, definitely prioritise the things that are unique to remix. The spreadsheet people have shared have those things noticed with italics. It's just the class arsenal and ensembles, and some of the world apparel, and about half the mounts (the new/unique ones are much cheaper though than the old Mists ones that are still farmable on live).

The only other thing from live that I'd say is worth buying if you're a collector is the fucking Gastropod shell from ToT. That toy is insanely, insanely rare and is not worth farming on live. I ran ToT as current content on three different toons when it was live and had gone back enough after the fact to farm every single class set on multiple difficulties, and never saw it drop for me or anyone else. I only know one person who had it prior to remix. It was the first thing I bought despite being the most expensive item on the vendors, but worth every penny.

You can get the vast majority of the sets just by playing the game, you don't have to spend bronze on them. You only have to buy the ones of the armor types you aren't currently playing or plan to play in remix, if you even want them.

If you quest in every zone until you complete its set, do every raid on each difficulty a few times to have those sets and do the landfall and isle of thunder meta achievments for the trading post reskins you have every single transmog item your class can wear just from that without spending any bronze on them.

Also I have yet to meet anyone who actually wanted to "buy everything" so this point always seems like some click bait to try to claim something is bad when in reality most people don't even want enough from the vendors to spend even half of that.

Don't waste bronze on raid sets. Retail chars can oneshot bosses and The War Within lets you learn all armour classes with any char. Just wait and solo raids.

    Buy mounts instead.

Speedlevelling bunch of alts to 70 and doing the dungeon daily queues and quests with them seem to be the easieest way to gain bronze. Upgrading gear is big fucking scam unless you plan on runnign every raid on Heroic and Mythic every single day.

Many stuff from his list are pointless. Especially world bosses that give only cloak upgrade - when you reach max gear and every group insta invite you and bosses fall in 15 seconds. Normal and Mythic SoO are not worth time (Normal too few bronze, Mythic too much time), not to mention LFR. Heroic is perfect for farming.

Personally I completed all content (basically every achievement) and put whole bronze into gear, then farmed HC raids for 4-5 days and reached max item level.

Nowadays I simply make world tour group for 450+ ilvl people (take 5 minutes to fill up), clear all HC in 1.5h (half of that is SoO which I think I skip after I'm done with mount/toys tomorrow) and scenarios/dungeons for bronze cache bonuses (of course all these complete bazaar dailies too) - 15-20 minutes. So 60k bronze daily and multiple rewards to buy each day, far more rewarding than typical transmog farming in main game.

Leveling new chars is good alternative for bronze, but only if you manage to do it in 2-3 hours every time. But I simply find playing overpowered character with groups where people joke around and race more fun.

Those mounts have sub 1% drop chances so nah, I'd rather farm the bronze than keep farming them on retail for the next decade.

    I don't think there's any mount in game that's currently under 1%.

The world boss mounts were all just buffed pretty decently at the start of Dragonflight. There's no reason to buy them until the last day if you get unlucky with all mop lock outs being daily
