Does everybody constantly complain about Blizzard in your guild?

I'm finding it very frustrating that every single raid night a good chunk of the time is complaining about Blizzard. It's the same stuff over and over again and usually it's used to cover ones mistakes or short-comings (like the "lag excuse"). It this just human nature? People find it easier to relate over complaints? Or are there really guilds out there that don't believe they know how to run an mmo better. It's just a drag to be relentlessly assaulted with negativity when you are all playing a game together. A lot of these people seem to pay a subscription just for the ability to whine about it.

ISPs get all the shitting in our raids, not really Blizzard.

It's like this ... Plenty of people are incapable of moving on. They are no longer enjoying the game (for whatever reason, burnout, they've grown out of it, or the game changed too much) but feel that they are too invested for some reason and are unable to say goodbye. Just like people who carry on in toxic relationships.
And since they don't stop all they can do is complain while carrying on.

I'd say most of the people who play WoW at an end game level hate the game, but just keep playing it because there is nothing else even remotely similar. The only thing close is FF14 and really when you look at them closely side by side they aren't similar at all. No MMO ever made in the 20 years WoW has been dominating has ever come close to replicating the smooth gameplay and end game replayability factor, FF is an amazing substitute but it absolutely does not scratch the same itch and is a great game for entirely different reasons. So even if people hate what Blizzard is doing, they will play WoW because there is nothing else and probably wont be for the foreseeable future.
Your persistence of vision does not come without great sacrifice. Let go of the tangible mass of your mind, it is only an illusion. There is no escape.. For the soul burns on everlasting encapsulated within infinite time. A thousand year journey at the blink of an eye... Humanity is dust..

I can't raid a single night without someone complaining about something Blizzard-related and someone else snarkily adding "small indie company". It's like that MrFeels brainless meme but times twenty.

It's been like this for more than a decade for tons of guilds. I was in a Horde guild a while back that didn't complain much and the guild was very well managed, and they included everyone. Had to fill out an application though to get in, but it was worth it.

Almost never happens. Sure there are some complaints about annoying bosses like raszageth or balance changes, but most of the time its in a joking manner when someone messed up on a boss.

One thing i noticed over the years is that there are always a few new members that love to complain. They come to us playing some fotm class, don't perform well, ask us if we've seen the newest asmon/bellular video and what we think about it and then leave after a few resets find a guild that has one more mythic boss down.

It's also healthy (in my opinion) to take breaks from wow. We always stop raiding like halfway through a season because its not fun anymore. People not showing up or having a bad attitute and complaining is always a tell tale sign to call it quits.

That's why copium was invented so you can pretend it's all positive. Do that

But wait there's more. I can't believe people are complaining so I'll get on MMO-Champion and complain about people complaining.

Yes that's true. It's not like I'm happy with the direction of the game, but I'll still buy TWW even tho I have a really bad feeling about it. There's just no better option so, basically it's like drinking dirty water because sometimes we just have no access to clean water.
And it wouldn't surprise me if Blizzard think they're doing a good job, maybe they can't comprehend we have no other choices. And so they misunderstand why we are attracted to the game.

The obvious other choice is not to play. Why would you continue to play a game you hate?

Outside of the occasional disagreeing with a decision or direction the game is headed. We rarely talk about Blizzard or what we don't like about the game. Would be weird t be in a guild of people who pay to play a game, constantly bitch about said game or company.

Sounds like you have a toxic element in your guild which has been left to fester. What level of raiding is it? What's the social dynamic of the ones who complain a lot the time vs the leadership of the guild (or even worse is it the leadership who bitch and whine all the time). If it's really affecting your enjoyment of the game you either need to speak to your guild leadership to do something about it or just leave and find a nicer guild.

Outside of blizzard doing really dumb shit occasionally they aren't ever a part of our guild convos at all, and if someone tried to blame them for their own messup they would be laughed out of the teamspeak. Your guild just sounds toxic mate.

The RP guilds I've been in mainly complain about boneheaded story decisions "why can't I join Garrosh? Why do I have to overthrow him? He's the best Warchief we ever had!" "Tauren Sunwalker powers are being retconned from being sun druids/fire wielding shamans into ackshually wielding the Light, WTF?", or complain about absurdly short durations and long cooldowns on toys, like only being able to transform into an Ogre or a Jinyu for 10 minutes during a 3 hour long RP event. The PvP guilds and communities complain about the stale nature of instanced 10vs10 BGs, the lack of huge open world PvP battles, and the difficulty of getting matched against another premade in epic BGs.

Bunch of casuals (ex-raiders who used to be A Big Thing in Wrath or something) in our guild complain all the time. They seem to be very angry about lot of things Blizzard does - but most of these people are online ALL THE TIME. They don't raid or run M+, just grind quests (or whatever) and complain about the game. When you tell them to stfu, they normally gquit in rage. Some people are just a bit.. strange.

Luckily enough most of the complaining in the raid group is lazy memeing about small indie company, but it's just so low effort it doesn't really register.

People complained about Blizzard all the time in 2004-2005 as well.

People do this in every MMO I've ever played. Most of it is just reflexive and true in most things in life

You can disable chat in the options menu and be guildless, been playing this way since Shadowlands.

Just human nature to focus on what’s wrong, I guess. Same reason the TV news could be retitled “What’s wrong in the world tonight.”

My guild could throw odd jab at blizz as a joke mostly, but we all actually love the game. My m+ group was much more negative towards the direction m+ was going (no comments on the other parts of the game) but as of the very recent changes there is a ton of hope there too!

  19. #19
not constantly but it depends on how dumb their recent design changes are with the recent m+ changes for example they were well received only negative thing if you could call it that was me saying dosent matter how good they make m+ if the dungeons are poorly designed

For real. I canceled my subscription before the panda cringe expansion to find greener pastures. I tried tons of other MMOs, the only one remotely good was Lord of the Rings Online, but in the end, it was nothing but a slower WoW with a different theme. There's nothing that truly managed to replicate it; it's no coincidence that all those "WoW killers" died in less than a year, and why Classic, being a 20-year-old game, still attracts such a large player base.

I hate Dragonfart with all my heart, I consider it the worst expansion to date, even surpassing the pandas. However, the gameplay is still excellent, and to be fair, the talent rework is awesome. I had to find a different way of enjoying the game, forgetting the lore and the immersion in the world, and by doing this I managed to have fun again. I may not be as fascinated by the game as I was years ago, but at least I can sink many hours and enjoy it.
