Literally has a whole paragraph about how they essentially did it to combat RMT

Banwaves every week would mean that botters turn around and leave cause the system is not profitable, but banwaves every 3 months allowed blizz to have these big headlines saying "they do something about bots" as well as further increasing blizzards own profit on botters.
No, if they would ban every week, the botters would find out how they were detected and adapt.
The reason for doing it in waves is so Blizzard can observe their methods; And because the bots do not know when they were detected, the bots have a harder time determining how to avoid detection.

They did it to combat the influence RMT has on the game, they never say outright that they do it to battle it because then people would call them out for them not succeeding. They do it because accounts get stolen when you leave it up to RMT websites.

"While we can’t completely “win” the war, what we can do is mitigate the impact it has on the game."

It's also important to understand that, unlike botting, the token doesn't generate gold. It simply provides players a method of trading the existing gold in the economy for a WoW sub.

Nothing he said was wrong though lol. They don't and can't ban bots every day or week because the botters can easily find out how they got banned and adapt, while doing a large ban way every so often doesn't tip them off nearly as easily. I have heard several different people who are experts in the field state as such as well. That's not even a blizzard thing that's just general knowledge in cyber security fields.

All he did was state facts he didn't even give his personal opinion about anything not sure how that makes him a shill try not to be so easily triggered friend.

What happened was while WoD was current, Blizzard made the payout from Garrisons too generous. So much so that most people rarely left their Garrisons and this left the PvPers with nothing to do outside Ashran and Arenas. Folks were pulling in hundreds in Gold a week without much effort. Blizzard then decided to arbitrarily nerf the Gold you get from your Garrison by like 85% with the Tanaan Jungle + HFC content patch. Too little too late by then though.

Why would you ever think Blizzard owes you anything or need to explain their actions to you?

Some of you zoomers really need to get your act together.
