anyone else miss the water elemental?

I think there should be fire and arcane elementals for the other specs as well, otherwise it can make it seem like frost is the only spec to play while the others just don't really have anything.

Maybe with a new hero-talent that is named Summoner or so for Arcane +Frost mages.
I dunno why there should be no room for niche specs. Let the people have fun.

Honestly no, i wish they brought it back in an actual meaningful way. I loved using glyphs on it, but its use was incredibly minimal. they should really give it some cooldowns - like an AOE frostbolt for m+ or its own Ray of frost for raid/ST.

But i rly hope that they will bring some enhancements for it, like more talents, optional hero-spec-tree stuff, so the pet will not hit like a wet noodle.
Like @klaps_05 said. Give it some NEW talents/abilities, like an AOE FB-Volley or let it dublicate our aoe-spells or let it be enhanced when we use ROF +let it channel an own ROF too.
There are so many possibilities, like splitting it =charing into enemies for explosions, let us spec into a 2. elemental = 1 will do dmg, the 2. will enhance/buff/support us/the group

An old friend had the following idea:
We could ride our elemental= charge into enemies, deal dmg, move much faster, like riding a magical horse

Yeay, another pet to bug out and the most unfortunate time.

The old Elemental was pretty cosmetic, apart from its ice nova. But I'm pretty sure that will not make a comeback, seems like Blizzard tries their best to remove any shatter tricks from Frost mage.

The water elemental coming back as permanent while we lose icy veins is about the worst possible outcome I could have seen for frost mage changes.

Water elemental has been a cooldown since warcraft 3. Icy veins has been a major mage cooldown since wotlk. They're both major parts of mage identity. I would much rather lose ray of frost than icy veins imo.

All that said I avoid pet specs like the plague and them making frost into one is going to kill one of my favorite specs of all time.
