The normal Early Access is sitll 3 days and campaign gets you to 3 level less than max and you have to do side quest or whatever.

Then normal access that has 50% extra XP needed to level.
At this point it's better to throw a few billions instead, buy the game, and return it to sanity; no gameplay contamination at all; it's a gameworld not a bank or a hotel.

I think it's silly to not get 30 days of gametime for the base-version though.
Paying 50$ first, then another 15$ directly afterwards just so you can access your previous purchase feels scummy.

But that complaint is, obviously, no longer the current topic.
'Twas nice to buy BC for 30 (or was it 40?) and have a month of game time alongside it.
So the expansion had a relative pricetag of 15-25$ or something like that... now it's 50-55$ Pretty steep increase in my opinion.
Considering that games did cost 40-50 back then and still cost 40-70 (base versions) nowadays .
I am glad that they finally convinced me not to buy the expansion at launch (first time it happened since wow launched). This EA was just to much, the cherry on a top of big pile of shit. I just hope i do not give in to the dark side.

They did something good in Hearthstone. $60 to buy a Hero skin. You might think initially that's bad; it's great because it doesn't affect gameplay at all; World of Warcraft should do that more (generally they should all do it exclusively (not affect gameplay and purchasables only affecting cosmetics etc)).

And Dragonflight's EA wasn't or did you forget it had one as well?

DF did not have EA. This was the first time for WoW. And as expected, it was dramatic, from upper hand in ease of blasting through the levels to EA people bullying poor or sane people.

Whatever that Dark Side is, based on whatever metric (in the end it can only be your personal opinions and where you draw a line)

If EA is the dark side for you - it depends on how many players cross over to that "dark side". Look what they throw at you in the new D4 x-pac. These bundles, be they with EA, premium Battle Pass, Cosmetics...you name it - just keep coming and coming.

But as you said - you (we) ofc have the choice to vote with our wallets, not pay, not buy early acces, not buy premium editions. Take the money elsewhere, don't participate in games that promote it. Reward the "light side" companies.

Poor and sane. Man, EA was cheap as hell, so cheap that even my third world friends were able to buy it.

Stop watching balding cockroaches on YouTube and get a job like everyone else in the world. Even guys from Indonesia got EA with barely to no effort.

Bullying the lazy (not poor) was fun. On my guild we cracked jokes about people not getting EA being hobos.

It was a fun experience, because we got to level fast without too much people ruining the launch experience.

If you dont like Capitalism move to Venezuela and North Korea, these are nice places for people who fear working hard like the balding cockroach does.

ingame we are week after global launch and there is no difference between early access and global release people... like pretty much everybody with brain predicted it wont, as early access in seasonal game like wow does not matter in the slightest...

Thanks for proving my point on exactly what kind of people are attracted to buying "premium digital deluxe editions".
And yes, no grown man would get wet at the thought of playing a game 3 days earlier than other people. That's for losers who desperately seek to finally be in a position where they can think they are above someone else.

    Meh I remembered wrong then.

Also the community always finds a way to be shitty to each other this isn't anything new, Just spend 5min's looking at trade chat and you will see that. It was well known for quite sometime that early access was part of the upper tier. Many players (myself included) could just farm the gold and buy it outright or lower the cost (what I did).

Better for server performance because it staggered the playerbase. This expansion launch was probably the best blizzard has had.

EA players didn’t even have that much of an advantage tbh so I think it’s worth it.

WoW likely has a load-bearing playerbase.
No matter what Blizzard implements or adds, there will be enough folks playing to keep the game going for a long time.

For someone who jumps up and down calling people stupid, you sure don't know much about gold making in the game.

The goblins who made millions more in a few hours of gameplay of EA could talk to you about the difference.
