Red face Food from around the baltic sea is the best food in the world and here's why

People like to think of it as peasant food but that's exactly why it is so good. It's simple, hearty good food. It'll fill you up. It uses generally local spices and ingredients. It usually lasts decently long since it involves a lot of the time sourdough and fermenting like with sauerkraut. A good example is finnish food, or german food. Polish food is also excellent. Rye is another staple and is in my opinion the supreme grain (together with barley, fuck wheat) and proper rye sourdough thick malty bread is the most delicious bread in the entire world. It pwns wheat bread.

What are your thoughts on it?

    Meh.

Give me Indian or South East Asian food any day over super bland foods around the baltic region.

That said I do like Golabki, but only because one could almost think it similar to Italian...

    Baltic food is pretty mid.

Will eventually improve when they get serious about immigration.

We have a good food in general, but the best? Maybe in the comfort food category. Sorry, but we haven't been winning a lot of culinary contests for a reason.

I love rye bread for toast and sandwiches a lot more than white bread. I don't really like sourdough that much. I my mom used to always say to me, "With my last name, I should love sauerkraut" but I don't like it. Overall I would bet that European bread is a lot better than American bread.

That is just a matter of awareness.

Well your right. I used to be able to go to the local Kroger affiliate and get decent loafs of rye bread and other bread. Over the years the quality of bread has really became worse. In America they keep trying to make our food cheaper and cheaper and the quality of it really goes down.

I remember that back when I was still in school in the 90's, we had additional map in our geographic atlas with information about standard and radioactive pollution of Baltic Sea. So yeah, I'll stick to sweet water fish

Have the Baltics not discovered tacos?

I mean Polish food includes literally the best sausage ever in the kielbasa so there’s that. Also pierogi. German käsespätzle. Currywurst. It’s definitely underrated for sure.

Yeah, the more aware they are means the lower the chance they'll ever order Baltic food lmao
