Of course it's hard to find a raider who doesn't agree and I'm certainly in that camp too. However, being in "race to world last" type of guild is interesting - by the time we get to the bosses, we often find that many of the Echo/Liquid WA packs are just too much/too heavy and there's a way to do the fights without loading all of the 750 auras they used.

Of course some auras are mandatory because there's no way you can humanly make assignment calls fast enough.

This game has always increased in difficulty. You only need to look at classic and how raids are destroyed by comparison. The fact we know the strategies is irrelevant, player are simply better than they were and more informed.

Any random modern day guild would be gods in Vanilla. Difficulty increase is part and parcel of the game's evolution.

However a lot of the playerbase is aging and we have to admit to ourselves we're no longer students and 20 somethings with free time. There are kids who were conceived because of this game that now play it as adults. We've gotten older and slower (true story, you actually pass your gaming peak at 27, doesn't mean you're immediately bad, but your reaction times only get slower)

The hardcore raiding scene isn't ours anymore. Thankfully the game has been more and more generous in catering to us old farts (he says at 38) who can no longer commit to a weekly schedule.
Ex-Mod. Technically retired, they just won't let me quit.

Almost nobody would play if the raids didn't have gear rewards.

The raids satisfy the hardcore guilds, and less hardcore guilds can still do the content over time with better gear and the buff.

I think the main issue people may have, is that the difficulty of the raid seems to be more attuned with the addons, and not the players. I'm not taking away anything from how damn good most of these players are, especially the healers, but a couple of these fights felt more like it was the battle of cooldown spreadsheets and weakauras.

The exception being acts of awesomeness like flying across the map to save the raid at 4%.

I've been a CE raider so I know how it is.

That's the thing, if the whole game had a maximum difficulty of heroic, more casual players would tip their toes and become raiders, playing the "true" endgame content. Yeah the 1% would become bored and leave, but you would get the 99% to be happier with the game, and maybe attract new players as you don't create the game difficulty just for people who played the game for 10+ years.
Time to go to therapy my guy.

This really isn't the case. Gamers are competitive, and they want incentives for being the best. If you really want that mount, then farm a ton of gold, and pay someone for a carry through a mythic raid.

They have made mythic more accessible in the long term, by pushing nerfs over time, and having stacking buffs. If it bothers you that there's content that you can't do, you can either improve your gameplay, or buy into it. Most people never 100% video games, and that's fine.

One thing that maybe went unnoticed - thanks to the added prize pool in China, we have some incredible performance by a few CN guilds. Wont be surprised if they reshuffle for next RWF and be a 1st spot contender.

I doubt. Looks at then. The one that killed took 544 pulls having 3 ilvl more than liquid kill. The others two on 864/944+ pulls and again 3 ilvl more

Wow, just noticed the two Asian guilds had 1000 pulls. That's insane, but it also goes to show how MASSIVE the skill gap is, they don't even stand remotely any chance against Liquid, Echo or Method.
Retired (top 20 raiding) WoW during Warlords of Draenor
Quit (casual) WoW during Battle for Azeroth

Still interested in watching the RWF!
