Item Level in Timewalking dungeons

...is really kinda low?

It's 554 at level 80, which is useless unless you're a fresh 80 in levelling greens. Am I remembering it wrong, or did the item level in timewalking use to be higher in relation to what you'd get from heroic dungeons?

it used to be higher,but hc has been buffed,tw being at normal ilvl feels fine

Yes, in DF they were on par with heroic dungeons (1/8 adventure).

554 seems a generally low itemlevel to drop (the same applies to non-bountiful delves), lower than even green world quest rewards. No idea what's the point, you couldn't even gear up to be even eligible to join heroic dungeons in the tool this way (considering you don't even get valorstones in TW).

timewalking dungeons, at least for BC to Cata, are not the best way to gear up. you're far better off doing the TW raid. 10 bosses, 597 gear with a quest that gives you a 610 piece of gear. and the bosses count towards the weekly so you get the normal cache of gear afterwards. I haven't done Ulduar or Firelands for a while, but Black Temple is really, really easy.

the BC timewalking dungeons are fairly easy, so it's no big deal to do the five for the quest and be done, but it'll be a turn-off for the harder ones when the loot is not worth it, I think.
