Last weeks DPS rankings from Icy Veins just dropped.
Heroic Overall Damage 95th Percentile, fire mage dead last. So, next week come the 4% nerf to that. Don’t know why.

Ye, do you know that for half of that week Ignite was bugged, which caused a huge DPS drop? Not sure why you look at Hc, when at this point everyone just nukes bosses down so fast.

Meh I gave up playing fire, meme spec, you chain spam pyros like there's no tomorrow for 95% of the time feeling like you're tearing the world apart until you open details and see you are with tanks just because you got a mechanic to handle during combustion, terrible design imo, fire should cast way less but way more strong pyros...seems like we are back to emerald nightmare mage super reliant on CDs but this time legendary bracers won't save the spec, the fact that unleashed Inferno outdpses skb on single target by a mile tells a lot about the bad state of fire.

Ok, because 9 guilds in the world have cleared Mythic.
The tuning cannot be based around; what, 120 players?

In Mythic raiding the (very few) mythic raiding fire mages gets PI and AUG and the targets lives so long so that the ignite actually is good damage.

Ramp up on ignite damage is pretty terrible design

Hello again, started this thread when fire was absolute garbage, then came weeks of buffs, putting fire right in the middle of the pack. But with next patch this thread start will be true again. Sad.


Yes, you can play Arcane, actually if you like to top the meters you should, since it is topping now and will get around 10-15% buff.

Well, with hotfixes arcane is on par with fire and frost, all 3 specs are dumpster fire right now, meanwhile my 610rogue alt pulls bigger numbers with 2 out of 3 specs

If I just push the buttons that glow when they glow on Arcane I do 400k more dps than Fire (where I know the rotation). This is just wrong, don’t know what else to say.

That just sounds like you've got terrible talents for Fire and/or are just bad at it. There is no class in the game where "Hitting the shiny" beats actually knowing the rotation. Especially for Arcane, so much of the DPS is wrapped up in proper CD usage.

Meanwhile, everyone who plays Fire mage know the ST damage is TERRIBLE.

You must be stuck in three-weeks-ago mode. After the buffs, Fire was competitive with Arcane and Frost for ST, and excessively high with funnelled externals. After the most recent patch all three specs are in the dirt.

It's too spammy and pyro doesn't feel impactful anymore

Hot streak and hyperthermia are too common

SKB not being usable adds more spamminess, yes pyros are too much and hit for too little

Checking back in to point out that fire mage is now (last two weeks) below aug on damage in heroic and just above aug on mythic (guess lots of externals there).

Looks like they just don't care anymore, they killed arcane 1 minute after 11.0.5 release (after totally changing the rotation mid tier), frostfire is a meme tree for both specs, next tier i'm gonna either unsub or reroll rogue as my alt is outdpsing mage main with 8 ilvl less
