Sounds like it's time to play other games until next patch? It's really not harder than that. WoW is seasonal game.

I've only been playing for 3 weeks, I didn't get EA and there was no point starting before season start.

So for me, there's still plenty to do, we just started our Mythic progg and haven't even done all dungeons on +10 yet.
But when I'm done (in about 5-ish months) I'll unsub and play other games until next tier.

That may be so - but I have little hope. People were already cherry picking their TW BT raidteam on the basis of highest ilv - with 590...no chance.

Which is totally fine, I am not going to open that debate and ofc there is always the "Make your own raid option". Which means for "NM/HC raid PUGs or Mythic Keystone dungeons" - it won't be about getting into those PuGs, because you always will be terribly behind...it s about making your own group and hoping for ppl to join that are...on the other hand...not turned off by your own low ilv.

In the end there is ofc still the guild option...but for a player who for whatever reason likes or has to play a lot solo..yeah..there are incentives...I just don't have high hopes of success. Probably safer to just buy a carry in trade

I think the one thing that Legion did really, really well is having a lot of class-specific content. It made playing alts way more interesting. I do think TWW is a pretty good expansion, but ultimately once I've done the stuff on my first character, I've done it all.

    @Zorachus

You make this same style of thread every expansion. No joke— I took 2 minutes and found 3 different threads from the past 2 expansions that you’ve created saying the same shit.

?? Are you not self-aware at all? Have not once thought that maybe the game is not for you anymore?

Or, are you just wanting to milk sentimental responses?

EDIT: these are just from the first page of your created threads:

WoW is extremely formulaic and somewhat dated these days, I'd say getting bored after a few weeks is normal. Only a simpleton would enjoy doing the same thing over and over year after year.

Overall there are more people who have quit the game than people who remain, so this is a normal part of the process of playing WoW. Find another multiplayer game to enjoy, it's not the late 90s anymore where your choices were between battle.net and battle.net.

The game does have that element where if a player isn't interested in any of the end-game activities like raiding, m+, pvp, or even delves, it can become boring at 80. It's 2 games really, the leveling/gearing experience and then end-game. So when leveling a character the question does need to come up, what am I going to do with them when I get to 80? That's up to each person to decide. There are plenty of things to do. But if none of the end-game activities interest you, it's always going to be a fairly time-limited thing with each expansion release. Blizzard's trying to get faster patches out to avoid those lulls, so they are aware of the issue and trying to avoid player drop-off if you hang around for a bit.

If you are spending most of your time with WoW I assume you aren't playing that many games so you can easily find something great cheap. Or pick up another MMO for a month or two if that's more your style.

The question always is for me, are you playing this just with your daughter? No one else? No Friends and Family guild doing normal runs and giving a social aspect to your gaming? If not then yeah, at some point repetitive content will get boring. You need the social aspect or a challenge to keep it interesting.
    Good point and question.

My real life friends and older brothers stopped playing WoW many years ago, they were into games like Never Winter Nights, and Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, and Icewind Dale, etc... to them World of Warcraft was a kids game, little to no skill needed or thought about plan of attack and strategizing about enemy strongholds. That whole group stopped playing after BC, just got burned out on the hamster wheel, rinse and repeat gameplay. But during their time they were god players, always running the Raids and difficult dungeons, and geared with near top tier stuff. But they just got bored with the game, they hated the idea of "the game doesn't start until you get to max level, where end game is where it's at" they couldn't stand that idea. To them the journey was the game, leveling up, and exploring new hidden areas, and doing hard dungeons during that experience, etc... But just spamming the same few dungeons over and over for slightly better gear was pointless to them, and Raids were cool to them, but after a few months the same Raid runs got stale to them.

The first Guild I was in disbanded after Wrath, it was a super awesome Guild too.

So now, none of my brothers play, no real life friends play anymore, the Guilds I was in are gone and history. Only real person I play with is my daughter now and she's a super casual. My daughter will do up to M0 dungeon runs as her max hardcore stuff.

I dont raid atm as I cant attend fixed hours or devote lots of hours in pugs, but Iam already tired of Delves its always the same formula and they are now super easy even Zeklie(or w/e its called) it was nerfed and I done her fast, there is some achievements I need to do and tier11 without dieing but yhe Iam considering stop and come back to the aniversary patch

    Honestly same.

The one piece of content I was really looking forward too turned out shitty (delves). I hate the current system for it like needing keys for good loot, and bran leveling slowly and only in select delves.

I think I'm just going to take a break while they iron out stuff but between that and just the time gating in general I'm bored. Kinda feels like the start of SL to me and I hate it.

My nelf druid helped a young Tauren get bear form and sealion. (Druids help each other...a bit of rp from me) The small quests that so many today are dismissive of gave so much depth imo. (Finding out the reality of "Caylee Dak" was a bit of a gut punch) Such small quests were hidden treasures to me.

WoW longterm is a repetitive game, if you are done with the onetime content unsub and play something else until next patch.

Maybe FIFA but beware, there's nothing but Football to do you'll get bored.

This is basically all there ever was to do. Raid, dungeon, quest. With added stuff like pet battling, achievement hunting, transmog collecting.

That said, if you really enjoyed dungeon spam in the past, leveling alts, etc., I suppose I can understand where you are coming from with the current dungeon community. The Mythic mindset, along with the ease of regular dungeons have turned all of them into, pull everything to the boss, AOE it down, then pull to the next boss. It's definitely efficient. Kinda has that Diablo 3 Rift grinding feel to it. So it can definitely feel off if you aren't used to that, or don't care for that constant "go".

This seems normal. The longer you play, the quicker you will become bored of the formula. I've seen it with friends and guildies all the time, especially when you aren't taking a substantial break from the game, like multiple expansions. Every expansion they play less then they did the expansion before.

We saw the same thing in Classic. We saw good guild attendance almost all of Vanilla, started losing folks about 2/3 the way through BC, then folks started dropping half way through Wrath, and now in Cata we aren't even making it to Firelands.

    -------------------------------------------
So I dunno. I don't get these threads. I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish, or what you think Blizzard should do differently. If they make the game into a completely different game every 2 years, it may keep you from getting bored, but they'll lose lots of folks who weren't getting bored, and they'll lose lots of folks who don't like the changes to the game.

Getting bored with any game you play a lot is extremely normal. Take a break and find a new game or hobby and recharge.

I think people are losing my point here. It's not that I'm bored or burnt out on the game. It's just that the current generic paint by numbers formula for WoW expansions is getting stale.

Good World of Warcraft history lesson during WoD expansion, at that point I truly felt burnt out with that expansion just was not clicking for me and was not having fun. So for the first time ever at that point I unsubscribed from WoW.

I came back 6 months later to see if it improved, and it did not. It was still a very lame, generic and boring expansion. And I thought to myself okay, maybe I'm just done with this game. I've played it for 10 years. It's just not for me anymore.

And then I remember seeing all the hype for Legion, and thought to myself, nah I'm done with this old game, it's just not for me anymore.

But I caved a few weeks into Legion launch and bought it. And HOLY COW maybe the best expansion ever. I was hooked from the start, and I played Legion for 2 full years straight, 5 or 6 nights a week nonstop. The expansion I played the most in my 20 years of WoW.

Legion rocked, with the Class Halls, and Artifacts, and Class Mounts to get and weapon appearances to hunt down, and at that time NEW things were added to WoW for the first time, like World Quests, and M+ Dungeons. I LOVED Legion.

Which proved my point. It wasn't me getting burnt out in the game or just been playing it for too long. It was a shitty expansion experience in WoD compared to the night and day ten million times better Legion.

Blizzard needs another shot in the arm, refresh like Legion again, but not a Legion 2.0 copy, but just something fresh and adding new things again.

I loved Class Halls and all the side quests that went along with that, and getting your Class mount, and those super cool weapons, etc...

And every other time you've made this thread, you've complained about this very point and have received the same responses you are receiving now.

Is everybody always losing your point?

There is not much more you are asking to be enlightened on that you haven't already heard, or been told, numerous times before. I read your responses. You take opportunities to share your "back in my day" experiences instead of really responding to the suggestions/tips/advice that you seemingly want. I mean-- what other reason would their be to make this type of thread every expansion?

Unless... of course, you have some other motive or something.

Even here, a thread you made a couple of weeks ago where you say:

Where you proceeded to do just that: be disrespectful and knock people who like the game's formula.

I struggle to understand what you are trying to achieve here-- not only with your past threads but with this one too.

    no, it isn't*

*it isn't a fact if you played the game at all outside of raiding, but if you were a 100% exclusive mythic level raidlogger who refused to participate in any content the game had to offer outside of raidlogging, you "had" to grind in order to catch up on the AP you didn't get from actually playing the game.
however on a purely numerical level there is zero reason that anyone ever had to grind (ie: perform repetitive activities over and over again for the purpose of rapidly and efficiently farming large quantities of AP) in order to maintain patch-current levels of weapon/neck/covenant advancement, that's a fact grandad.

your parse on warcraftlogs being your favorite color is not a "need" built into the system.
