If im not mistaken a decade ago or something either data from blizzard or some larger scale poll put the average in the 30s then, assuming that is true and blizzards recent statement that they pretty much given up on gaining new players and focus on getting returning ones instead, and a bit of math, I say 40s

Pretty accurate to my demographics on my small youtubel channel as well. 59.8% of my viewers the last 90 days is 25-34 years, and 21.4% at 35 to 44 years old.

    0.5% of my viewers are 65+ 4.1% between 45 and 54

And only 0.1% are 0-17 years old.

Looking at i.e politics in the present i'd say that people really don't age beyond such behaviour inn practice.

The average of the PEAK of wow in WotLK is probably nearing their 50s now and some of them are well in their 60s because WoW started also with a large population who were already older players migrating from the oldest MMOs and Warcraft 1 and the like.

"At any given time and for the highest hours per day" is a more boring question because it's always "college student age" the right answer; that's because those are the people with the most time in their hands to play; small kids would do it too but they're not allowed by their parents.

I could guess there is a SHIFT to higher ages in this game e.g. instead of the 20s the average might have shifted to the mid-30s but you can't easily beat the almost unlimited amounts of time a college student has.

I agree with my doppelganger, I think middle age is where most people are at if they started at the game's peak. I have seen newer players that skew younger however.

The average age in my guild and my raid is probably late 40s. I believe the youngest person in the entire guild is mid30s, unless you count peoples' uni-aged children who sometimes poke around.

It's a 20 year old game, and doesn't get many new players nowadays, so I would be surprised if there were that many people younger than mid-30s, and I'd guess the average to be somewhere in the mid-to-late 40s, but all anyone can do is guess.

30s for sure, followed by 20s and 40s. When WoW was at its peak it was mostly 20s and teenagers, those are now 30s and 40s.
WoW is not really that attractive to the teens today that have potato attention spans.
