Blizzard needs to drop Funko and get on with Good Smile Company for small vinyl figures. Vastly superior in every way and worth x2-3 the price.
Man I hate modern Blizzard.
This week truly was full 'mask off'-week wasn't it? Release a bug-ridden patch in the wake of more layoffs, create an anniversary event that timegates and create a chore-list while amping up the FOMO and pump the cash shop full of expensive shit for people to buy. WoW has been dead a while so I guess this is what decay looks like on a game's corpse.

Honestly, if they're going to have things available inside the game for a price - I'd prefer it be something like this.
I see nothing wrong with buying a physical product to get a code for a fun thing in game. They did it previously with the plushies on the store, or the TCG card game (though admittedly that one was more RNG) so I don't see a problem with them putting a code with a funko pop.

Not when I'm getting a physical product in return, no.
I don't count buying a Murloc Funko Pop or a Murloc Plush and getting a cute pet in the game as a bonus as a problem.
Now if you're talking about the 90 dollar dinosaur mount or something like that - I can totally see your point.
