This was called before, but blizzard being blizzard didnt listened at all..
Not really hindsight after they did the same thing with Plunderstorm and Remix.
Thanks Blizz really enjoyed doing all those completely useless and lame weekly quests and battle grounds and every other thing i dont want to do for these coins ontop of filling out my vault in this great m+ system for u to just make the changes that should be implemented from the start and make me realise i completely wasted my time and couldve been doing something i actually enjoy
Its not that they made us do it its that its mind numbingly boring busy work with little to no reward for it and worse still most of it is actually not part of the event itself but normal bullshit you would do each week if you are a no lifer.
wait so are you saying that if you do all the Khaz Algar stuff throughout the week that makes you a no lifer? I mean I don't know your schedule but a lot of it can be done in maybe 2-3 hours spread out over the week. sounds like it's aimed towards the casual playerbase rather than the no lifer playerbase to me.
SO 20th anniversary token from the current expac, not the actual GOD DAMNED 20th ANNIVERSAY?!?!?
Do we still have any surprised people in 2024?
Exactly. There's no way they could have known this before it went live. What the game really needs is some sort of proving ground for patches, where players can try out the content and provide feedback. Some sort of public... test... realm... or something, but obviously with a less stupid name. That way they'd know stuff sucks before it hits the main servers and could adjust it accordingly. Unless, of course, they decided to just completely ignore the feedback they got from this imaginary "PTR" that we just came up with. But I'm sure they wouldn't do that, because otherwise why would such a thing exist in the first place?
It's a little bit more complex than that.
If they gave you enough coins for 1 set per week - you would still have people complaing about it(probably lot of people).
And they would need to buff it regardless. I believe they already know this and this is thier way of dealing with it.
I think the problem is thier commuication. They have this big cooperate way of dealing with things.
So I watched a T&E video where they used PTR values for the bronze farm. 90ish in the first week, 70ish in the weeks after. So yeah, no negative feedback would’ve been given about the acquisition rate because on the PTR it was actually pretty good… problem is that’s not what we got in the first week of live. Honestly what’s the point of the PTR if it’s not a realistic version of the game?
Because the community wants all the collectibles in week 1 and Blizzard need to buy 12 weeks of time(and keep people engaged in the hamsterwheel)?
Blizzard want the PTR to be bugtesting(even though they failed here). Not "handle our business" platform - because they know exactly how to survive for 20years.

The point of the PTR is to test and gather data. Just because something works in a way on the test environments doesn't necessarily mean that will be the live product.
But fucking up values is a WoW team trademark .. that's just how they operate. They're more concerned about people not taking advantage than they are about people having fun, so they just overtune and nerf when it doesn't work out. Can you imagine people completing the anniversary stuff in 1 week and them re-do only if they enjoyed it? Preposterous! You gotta do shit that you don't want to because ... you want a transmog that you won't even use right?
And at the end they can pull a graph and say "See guys, people did the stuff for 3 months straight, the content was banging, engagement very high"
