    Ancient Kalimdor

Imagine, an alternate WoW, but instead of being set in the time of modern Azeroth, after the events of the Third war in Warcraft 3, it's set in the time of Ancient Kalimdor, at the time when the Kal'dorei Empire and Queen Azshara ruled.

    Map of Ancient Kalimdor:

It would be before the Sundering, when the land was unfractured, the map would be much bigger because it would consist of all the lands that exist in current Azeroth, and all in between. The Night Elf empire covering most of it, all their different cities intact, wielding the arcane, the Moonguard would be there, there would be the various Troll tribes and conflicts on the borders, different things going on in different places, and a few others like Dwarves, Tauren, Pandaren, it would be interesting to explore the map and see how it all looks in those days.

It could be a prequal kinda thing, but would definitely be big enough to be it's own game with how big that land would actually be. There'd probably be some characters you could recognize there as well, but in their younger days. Imagine Black Rook Hold, but in it's prime instead of full of ghosts.

Nothing on the map would be in ruins, so all the ruins you see in game now would be unbroken, fully constructed still alive buildings.

Would we get to play as Broxigar or Rhonin? It would be cool to play as them during the lead up to the WotA novels.

I was thinking more of that it would be how it was in the original timeline without them getting involved.

I dunno I preferred Ravencrest and others. And it seems Humans and Orcs feature in everything, would've been nice to have a story that was purely about Night Elves for a change.

And I'd probably also have preferred Illidan learned magic from another Night Elf rather than giving Rhonin OP powers due to him traveling back in time and having him teach him (Chuck Norris syndrome right there).

It sounds exceptionally boring, and arguably exclusive by design, against fans of other aspects of the game.

True I guess there wasn't as much going on back then as there is now. Though I do wonder what was happening down in Pandaria between the Pandaren and Mogu and all the other races there.

Not much to wonder, as we've known what happened for quite some time now.

I'd want to keep that trolling in that other thread.

I know they overthrew the Mogu slavedrivers, but I wonder when exactly that was, if it was during this time or before or after.

When creating my timeline of events for my revision, I played with the idea. I didn't get too far beyond a prologue for my Naga expansion idea.

I dont like these; play as this character with 3/4 abillities, in an instanced area.

These are exceptionally boring in my eyes and doesnt make you feel like you are there in that timeline. More like solo dungeon/scenario moment. Forgetable.

I remember a friend imagining an Azeroth who got rebooted by the origination machine and brought back to pre sundering Kalimdor with Time shenanigans.

I suggested to introduce orcs in the setting with a faction that was all Broxigars from multiple timelines.

I guess as a PlayStation or Xbox game something like that could work.

Maybe one that lets you play as a druid with different abilities in each form.

I was thinking more aka Huln or Illidan quests, were you play THEM. These are not what I have in mind to relive ancient kalimdor. This seems to be what people ment by playing differnt characters. These quests arent that great imo.

Ye, that feels more like you said; pick a character, Aragorn, lego... I mean.. and then jump in. Defo seems more like a single player xbox games. For wow.. meh even a dungeon would be better.

I would like a ancient kalimdor, but for it to feel great and grand how it was at the time it would it to be much larger. Idk how feastable that is. Alsmost seems like a full blown patch zone or even bigger. Making it a zone will obviously feel very small. Same as zin ashari.

Could make for a good single player game.

You play as Tyrande, you can use both magic and bow plus some other kind of weapon.
