I would like to believe this will turn out well, but, alas, Reforged...
Of course it should be much easier to remaster, it's a 2d game after all, so some hope is here.

Remastered is just a code word for "We gonna ook it up!"
Another day, another cash grab
I just think it's strange that they're doing the rts games in reverse order. They should have started with a remastered Warcraft: Orcs and Humans.
yeah after w3 remaster fiasco nobody will buy that.
i mean - im personaly gonna wait till it will be on one of the megasales half of year later
I can't disagree with that because I don't truly know the extent at which it takes someone's time to remaster such a game. But it is undoubtedly expensive to do so. You really think, with whatever expertise you have, that they could remaster, an ENTIRE game, for less than a million dollars?
then make a new game!? why remake old one? why not make wc4 then? and it doesn't have to be in future, u can easily fit many of old wow events like the original legion invasion or scarab war or spider war or seriously there are a LOT of events in warcraft history that we only read about and never saw it
war of 3 hammers
ok really there are a lot of events, mogu vs pandas, trolls vs pretty much anything in entire history...
why remake wc2, when u plan to make new gameplay

they used black and white drawing, there is reason why wow doesn't use that style anymore in any promotion

I mean, why they should make a new entirely one? why not a remake?
A remake means the you already have an objective and a goal, the game i "done", you just need to remake it in modern way. You already have a blue print, tht works and people love, why not make use of it?
THEN, when it doing good, you make more out of it.
Age of mythology already announced a complete new campaign, with another pantheon/gods, basically a new expansion/DLC, and said down the line we will get another
If war2/3 do good, you could expect more campaigns focused on the events you mentioned, using the game as base like AOM did
Expensive is not for us to decide, it is up to zblizzard.
And if you really care, they already outsourced art for their other remakes so it's way cheaper than doing everything inhouse like they do for WoW. It all depends what price point they plan to put the gane out for, so a cheaper game might be sold for less than $40 to hit a wider audience, much like SCR pricing. It all depends what they plan.
We:ll have to wait and see.
Finally some good fucking news!
But I do wonder what changes or additions the game will have as it is quite barebone by todays standards.
Personally I wouldn't mind if it only gets a little polish and that's it, but I expect Blizzard will try to save face compared to the reception of Warcraft 3 Reforged and try to gain some credit with the fans. This is their chance to do it right. Diablo 2 Resurrected was a hit while Warcraft 3 Reforged was a miss.
I got WC3 Reforged for free, because I still had my CDkeys for WC3 and WC3TFT, so I never understood why folks were up in arms in the first place. Now WC2 was before my time, so I am curious to buy it and play it. But my point to the prior post, was some poster said this would be a 50k endeavor, which is completely asinine to think that way. I understand hating Blizzard is cool, but being dumb isn't.
they changed the game EULA (or whatever u call it), if u create a mod like dota in the new wc3, blizz own it and all money comes from it, while original wc3 let u be as creative as u wish and u earn u r hard work rewards, not someone else
and since dota/lol was for a long time biggest money maker in gaming world, u can see 'why' they made that, but the result is dead creativity, no one wants to try anything when u know no matter how much u work, someone else will get the credits
for me it didn't make difference, i refunded for how shit it was not for that, i lost my 'free' time to tinker since ages, but if that rule existed 20 years ago i'd raise a pitchfork too, or probably wouldn't even give it a chance, i used to mess a lot in gaming and love to mod but that was ages ago
