Is there a central space where neighbors can gather?
At first I thought that'd be cool for private neighborhoods to gather for guild events or celebrate/party after raid, but I'm not sure if that's something for public ones as that space would tend to draw people away from the actual "thing" and make it feel less alive elsewhere. No?
Can you visit any house in the neighborhood or can you lock your door?
Like in palworld you can decide to have it open for everyone all the time or to have a 4 or 8 digit lock for your door/entrance so others can only visit your plot but cannot get inside your house if you so desire and I always thought that's a good middle ground to let people decide for themselves.
How big is 1 housing slot? Do you have a yard?
It could work in a way like the pandaria farm; over time you can unlock more usable space (maybe via quests?) but the total amount of space you can have is fixed so there is no "accidental" overlapping of plot spaces.
Can multiple players live in the same house as roommates or a couple?
woa that'd be cool. like to be able to assign certain players as your roommates for your plot so upon entering the neighborhood they'd always phase into your specific plot and not anywhere else. i feel like they want it to be a social thing where people can live together so why not?
Does each house have it's own mailbox or are there a couple spread out across the neighborhood like cities?
Remains to be seen - and even if there aren't any mailboxes - wouldn't be much of an issue, as there are several toys for mail you can place if quickly needed.
Can your house have multiple floors?
When I looked at Blizzards artwork (i mean the one on the front page in battle net app, look at the wooden-castle-like building in the background just above the gryphon stable) for housing I think there's a chance we could create something on-top of the base building, at least a 2nd floor.
How many customization is there for your house? Can you change the rooftype, roof color, room layout, wallpaper, floor, doors and windows etc..?
From what I've read it sounds like it could indeed be complex enough for such things. But I wouldn't expect too much of it in an overall themepark-styled mmorpg.

Worse, it is costing us mythic plus dungeons. We should have twice as many mythic+ dungeons available than what we currently do with three times as many affixes. But the damned casuals want housing so we are losing out on old dungeons being turned into mythic+ so we can run our +40 keys.
Retail sucks. Classic sucks. No positivity, only negative feedback. Why is everybody so damn miserable? Must be somebody else's fault, it couldn't possibly be my INSANELY TOXIC ATTITUDE.
I assume there will be a place where you can buy house upgrades, (basic) furniture etc.. Like the Garrison Architect. That could be at the central location, like square of a neighborhood.
Yes, i was thinking something like that as well. I used Palia as example. See above. How big is 1 housing slot? Do you have a yard?
It could work in a way like the pandaria farm; over time you can unlock more usable space (maybe via quests?) but the total amount of space you can have is fixed so there is no "accidental" overlapping of plot spaces.
Yea I see your example is definitely more elegant
Also I'd like if there's an option to switch from 3rd person to a top-down view (like in your picture, or like in Starfield), to have a better overview of what's going on. I tend to loose orientation in my own virtual base camps pretty quickly anyway, but maybe it's just hormones hhIt'd definitely help out "old grannys" like me hhh

Every patch is the worst until the next one arrives, then it's nostalgia and suddenly the best while the new patch takes over being the worst.
