What baffles me is that we have so many out-and-about racists posting in this thread with absolutely zero repercussions.
No it is NOT definitional. You're taking someone's opinion and apply a racism motive behind it. Even if it happens to be true in that certain case, it doesn't define racism, because you're the one assigning the motive to someone else's opinion.

Also, those posters (even if we accept their racist motives) are against casting choices. They aren't attacking the actors personally.

Authenticity is just your code word for "the right skin color". We've already established that you don't care about merit and think any skin color that isn't white is hired just because of their skin color. The best part is her skin color isn't an issue. Only her hair color is. Yet you've made it all about her skin tone and ethnicity.

It always circles back to that.
Why do you always feel the need to point out her skin color? She's whiter than me. And, that whole black and white stuff is such an american thing. You reduce people to such a narrow view. Are you aware that there are different european ethnicities? That there are different african ethnicities? I wouldn't want them to be slavs more than i would want a Nigerian to be depicted by an Ethiopean.

When a studio says a different skin tone is the best actor they are lying according to you. When a studio lets a different skin tone be part of their production they are letting less "professional" people work on it according to you. It always circles back to skin tone because that is what you and others keep making it about. It is weird that you ignore your own comments and try and nation bash as well.

The director and head writer is the same for both the animated and live action films. They have already made changes with some you've accepted. Others changes you, and others, can't seem to accept even though they are the same superficial changes you've already accepted.

I'm not saying they are lying, nor do i say they are less professional. I'm just saying be more doubtful. Don't believe everything you read and take contemporary interests into account.

If I'm not supposed to take them at face value then you are saying they are likely lying and the people they are including are likely less professional. If the movie is bad it won't be because they changed the skin tone of two characters. If the movie is bad it won't be because they let "less professional" people on the production crew.

You alright there, buddy? You sure carrying the water for insanely bigoted posters is the hill you want to die on? There is no "motive" for disliking an actor for the color of their skin which isn't racism. If you have a bigoted opinion, you are a bigot. Simple as.
