Ngl this is just a load of BS. Like I am all for the secrets they've added since Legion when they can be reasonably figured out by playing the game, but some of them like this one are just basically stuff nobody but the super dedicated couple of dozen or so people (and with the help of datamining) can figure out and everyone else who wants the mount just basically follows along. There's just no fun or challenge in that for the average player. The rest of the secrets of azeroth stuff they added in this patch was mostly fine

I kinda agree, but consider this: Blizz made content for the average player which was the rest of the Secrets of Azeorth. Then some devleopers had some fun catering to the super-elite secret hunters and made this extra challenge. The average player doesn't have to follow along.

I love that Blizzard is willing to allow a small team to work on niche content like this that appeals greatly to a very small crowd but for whom this is basically the best content in the game.

Especially when the puzzles contain randomized elements, so people who attempt the secrets after they've been solved will still have to put in some level of effort.

For people who thinks following the steps after the fact is too much effort for a mount, well, there's the very simple option of not doing it.

If it doesn't appeal to you, it's because it wasn't made for you and that's okay. Not everything has to appeal equally to everyone.

I'm very much not part of the puzzle solving crowd, but I enjoy checking in on the progress made every now and then.

Wisdom of the crowd. What's nearly impossible for a single person is quickly handled by hundreds. Honestly my guess is they haven't finished step 9 because it isn't in the game yet or it's buggy. It'll be hotfixed and they'll find it within a day.

Don't think it's a bug. It's a ton of people overthinking every step. Jenafur took 9 months to solve!

They did supposedly hotfix it yesterday, new runes above the door in the motorcycle room. We'll see if the discord solves step 9 today. I'm optimistic.

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but is this particular secret going away after the anniversary? I've been meaning to do it but life is busy and I don't want to miss out.

Nobody knows for sure but probably not. You will however be unable to get the detective title needed to start the incognitro chain when the anniversary event ends. I'm sure that'll be available next year though.

What I understood is the crates won't go away, so it's still possible to get the title.

Re detective title, even if the crates remain, the chick you hand them into won’t be at the anniversary celebration. And of course there’s more than the crates required for the title.

That would be interesting. I find myself a bit doubtful since Incognitro's cousin mount, the one from the Mt. Dew promotion, also has no mountspecial animation - but I guess earning it for Incogntitro might enable it for both?

I got Detective and started the prologue but have been dragging my feet on doing this. The items are hella expensive, and god I just have no desire to engage in pet battles, except for this reward.

Just need 2 out of 4 Achievements and 2 of them are for the crates.

Yep, it is. Although the altar orb will be harder with less people around.

Is anyone else throwing random codes at Incognitro looking to see if they can find out what all happens?

So far I've tried:
418 - Spawns a "Weird Egg" junk item
17 - Random effects including green fireworks, green electricity, and green smoke
911 - No effect, the bike briefly smokes
666 - No effect, the bike briefly smokes
85945 - Ditto

Also, if you use a code with an effect of some kind it alters the Ratt's Revenge scenario in some ways. Codes 418 and 17 apparently open the "Room of Cats" within the instance.
