Bfa and SL happened, fucking up the lore beyond repair.

WoD and Shadowlands ruined the lore in my opinion.
I mean a multiverse and a death god that made the Lich King into a puppet…..

And when did the Horde actaully do something great?
They killed all interesting lore characters but never bothered replacing them or build up new characters…. Removal of the faction conflict and focus on a new invented race every exp pack is not great for world building or to make a interesting story. That is why we only get characters these days crying their eyes out and talk about their feelings.

    No, that can't be it.
Yeah let's not pretend like that didn't happen only 5 months ago.

We really need to rid ourselves of 'multiverses' in any media. the MCU really popularized lazy storytelling by selling everyone a get out of the multiverse free card. Time hopping, alternate realities, if you want something that kills a franchise for me in terms of storytelling its multiverses and its alternatives.

I remember even in BG3 the line multiverse was mentioned (they used the term 'multiverse') and I swear PTSD hit me for that brief second lol

I'm pretty sure at one point he tried to branch out into Genshin Impact lore but that didn't go very far, then were was a pretty big gap in his content, but he started making videos again presumably so he doesn't have to work a job.

Of course, the apathy he felt when the writing quality cratered was shared by the community. The interest, quite frankly, isn't there for post-Legion content.
anyone who loves warcraft lore felt betrayed by SL lore specifically, i can honestly summarize many plots in SL as exist just a big FUCK YOU to us and wc3/wrath lore specially

This was such a well-thought thread in terms of OP's presentation and what the thread has turned into.

+1 to OP for this masterful deceit!

its so recent that it didn't even hit my mind, but yeah wow lore now is more clear than before and u can actually understand what is going on without need to read a book
or even half of quest texts even!

He's a lovely guy, but I admit I don't watch his stuff much anymore as I prefer the lore-speculation channels - the more crazy the better!

I feel like the story is pretty well covered in game now and the other speculators I watch also cover the 'real' lore too,

I do wish him well though, if he's not relying on income from the channel then he's free to do as much or little as he wants. He seems to have a good following just for his personality regardless

Two things I hate in fantasy (and anything really) is multiverse stuff and mortals fighting literal gods. Not like MCU Thor and Loki "gods", but things that have created worlds and such, like Titans in WoW. It always sucks.

Legion was epic, BFA onwards - not so much. It has never been complex or anything, but it was at least interesting. Last few expansions felt like "we make shit up as we go", TWW has done a lot to fix it (IMO), but the damage has been done to make most people not care about it enough to start looking deeper into it and all the clues, plus in game story telling was pretty good this expansion, so again, if you care about lore, but just don't care enough - current storytelling is sufficient in game, which is kinda a good thing, story telling in-game was horrendous before TWW/DF

He tied himself directly to how popular the story in WoW is, simple as that really. After it peaked in Legion it just fell of a cliff with some of the worst storytelling and writing the human race has ever seen. It's picking back up a little now though so we'll see.
Your persistence of vision does not come without great sacrifice. Let go of the tangible mass of your mind, it is only an illusion. There is no escape.. For the soul burns on everlasting encapsulated within infinite time. A thousand year journey at the blink of an eye... Humanity is dust..

He's still around. Still making Lore Videos and even the upcoming patch for the Undermine.
