The 2025 Formula 1 World Championship Thread

Ehh. Unfortunately I stopped liking F1 championships recently. Because there usually just 2 kinds of championships: 1) One team/pilot dominates and it's boring 2) One team/pilot dominates, but championship owners seem to hate it due to loss of spectators' interest, that causes ticketing/broadcasting/bookmaking loses, so they seem to "direct" it such way, that everything almost turns upside-down.

For me this championship is 50/50. Yeah Max's 5th title would be way too boring, but Norris's rich parents seem to have paid enough money to McLaren to dump Piastri, who was obvious champion and just couldn't all of a sudden become so bad.

That's not really an answer. You know you're wrong about Monza, it was McLaren, not Norris. You hate McLaren. You technically have no valid reason to hate Norris.

Monza was dumb. You can't botch Lando's pit stop and then make a call like that to Piastri. And then there's Canada, Baku, and Vegas. GAWD!! McLaren should've had an easy P1 and 2 for the WDC.

Congrats to Mercedes on their WCC P2. Nice job by Williams and Haas, too.

That's not really an answer. You know you're wrong about Monza, it was McLaren, not Norris. You hate McLaren. You technically have no valid reason to hate Norris.

I'm not him, but is it really that hard to see why folks may dislike Lando? He's acted like a petulant child at times. And I'd imagine some folks are disappointed that he's objectively not on the same level as other drivers on the grid (e.g. Max) and won.

Lando himself admits he says dumb ass stuff:

Personally--I fall more into the latter camp (I'm disappointed for Max as I prefer when talent rises to the top). The things Lando says in the heat-of-the-moment are just that. He was very gracious and mature today (though easy to be in his position). I don't dislike the guy (Jacques Villenueve has set the bar for what I really dislike). But its pretty easy to understand why folks may not be Lando's biggest fan--within reason at least; none of these guys do anything that deserves real hate--its just a sport.

He always has some stupid remarks about other drivers and he comes across as a spoiled child. I bet he is still adamant that the Red Bull is faster than the Mclaren.

Another case in point: asking people for donations on his twitch stream when he is a millionaire.

He has improved himself in the latter half of the season but that's only because he got some media training or whatever.

Unfortunately for me 2025 championship looked even worse, than 1994 or 2021, where everything was done to take title away from obvious champion, cuz he didn't "deserve" it. 2025 was about "We don't care, that Piastri was so good, that he was capable to win 3 championships in a row, i.e. F3, F2 and F1 - if we have rare chance to win, that may be we will never have again, then let's give it to our long sitting duck Norris. Due to 2 reasons: 1) He waited for it longer 2) His rich parents essentially own our team". Unfortunately in some cases rent-driver > talented one. When Norris burned his engine and gap became more than one pure victory, it became obvious, that Piasti would be champion. But I hoped till last moment, that 2025 would be similar to 1994 and 2021, where at the end obvious champion would get title at very last moment. It didn't happen. I'm disappointed.

None of those things mean he's a terrible person or people hate him. Maybe you should respect that people may have opinions different than your own and you don't have to be hateful toward them for expressing them. The only hate here is from you.
