Always reminds me of that one friend who always proudly claims he started playing in 2004 even though WoW launched for us in 2005 and I bet he didn't even start in 2005...
Thanks! Started on day 1, never skipped a sub - got the 10 year statue present - and as a true entitled person, I am sour that we didn't get anything similar for subbing 20 years.
Ah well..maybe for 25 - here's to at least 5 more years

Thank you. My journey started summer 06.

World of Warcraft stuff
Summer 2007 was when I rolled my first ever character, a dwarf. The beautiful serene music of Coldridge Valley, the NPCs talking to me when I clicked on them, the sound of the wind and the crunch of snow underfoot as I ran around killing stuff. I was hooked immediately. Ahh, almost makes me feel like playing Classic. Almost.
I wish time would be that simple again. I mean Raids, m+ and rated pvp is fun, but damn i miss the time where you just leveling, doing your stuff, didnt red a guide for everything and met tons of other people on your way to max level.
My first wow friend i met in arathi basin pvp. I was a shaman, he was a feral druid. We duelled alot far from the bases for fun.
Unfortunately i cant exactly remember whats happening next. I know i saw his feral druid in goldshire a few days later, i think when i was with my mid 30s orc shaman there. And then i made an ally and chatted with him... I guess. But i dont know if both factions were playable on the same pvp realm at this point. Have to be around september/october 2009. So i could be wrong and we started chatting in a different way.
I just know je dropped his feral and started playing shaman on horde and while leveling we was skypeing alot.
He could have. If you preordered it you had access to the beta autumn 04'. Before that there were plenty of private servers with working start areas to try the game out.
I say I started playing WoW 04' because of these reasons, I had tested all classes a few lvls (10-12) before release and knew what I wanted to play.
But then again, there's also a lot of players who say they started playing at release but really didn't. Which becomes obvious when they don't remember anything about the first few weeks lol![]()
Taking two celebrations, I don't mind.

Well, EU players COULD start on US servers first, except, we wouldn't have much gain once we abandon the US account to make an EU account.
At least, that is what was going on for me.

I had one month where I couldn't pay the sub, and thus, I wasn't allowed to get the statue..
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
That sucks...same as for my best friend - who always was into Warcraft (I was into Diablo and hoped for an MMO In THAT world) - I subbed immediately anyhow (queued for the CE at a midnight sale...as for the next few CEs as well) - but he hesitated and started a month later - no statue...though he is also still subbed ever since![]()
We already did the anniversary thing. EU comes in 2nd...again!
Wow, I can't believe Blizzard gave NA a 3-month headstart on playing the game!
/s obviously
Sunday February 20th 2005 was my start date, Aggrammar server, Troll Hunter.
I'd had no interest in the game during development - I'd played a little Warcraft 3 and didn't like it (loved WC2 though), and have never really been a multiplayer kind of guy - I grew up in the 80s with single player games on my ViC20 and C64, later my Amiga 500 then 1200. I'd recently upgraded my internet access to a 1MB line, and saw a glowing review of WoW on the BBC News website so thought it would be an opportunity for me to dip my toes in the multiplayer universe.
Kept a sub all the way upto MoP I believe, so missed out on the statue, but I've been there for every expansion launch and end but nowadays I tend to only sub for a few months a year
