    Also, they kind of do have an "evergreen system" for naming the crests. The first part of the name refers to the quality of the crest, based on their respective expansion (whelpling/wyrm/drake/aspect for Dragonflight, and weathered/carved/runed/gilded for TWW) and that naming lasts the entire expansion, then we have the second name which refers to the seasons within an expansion, such as harbinger/Undermine for TWW.

    Also, I'd probably drop the X-stones currency, personally. The crests are the real roadblock/cost, and that would make them more analogous to the old justice/valor points or the various emblems.
    Actually, I've been 'roadblocked' by the stones a couple times on my main character when I stopped doing WQs on a consistent basis when upgrading my gear, and have been roadblocked several times on alts.

    I'm actually curious does anyone actually enjoy this upgrade 1/900 for 5 different crests that kinda make no sense and epics feeling like leveling greens?

    This as opposed to just having that Justice/Valor points or whatever and make them give more of them at higher lvls m+ and raids and less at lower levels.

    Let people that just do LFR have a chance and getting max lvl gear really slow or something ( and i was the one that like 6 years ago was very opposed to LFR people getting mythic level gear ).

    I wanna find the guy that actually thinks this 4 crests valorstones with caps and 4 types of gear dropping and epics being from lvl 200 to 900 in a single patch is fun and engaging.

    For the last 6 years i've been playing first patch of the expansion cause i enjoy going from greens to epics slowly and it feels rewarding.

    what they're doing now is just making u stay in this game more time so they can have some stupid numbers to show people.

    Anyone to the people enjoying this , have fun. No hard feelings to you. Enjoy your game. I'm not relaly having fun haha

    I enjoy the system quite a lot, but it is proberly also because i don't think too much about it.

    Like you could play without actually using the crests on anything. Getting new upgrades from the content you do, is still something that happens and going from normal raid level loot to heroic level loot feels just as good.

    The thing about the crests are. that if you ever get stuck on a difficulty or you are simply at the end of the content, that you want to do, then there is still actually some way for you to increase your item level. Sure its a slow increase, but still, you do get rewarded for just playing the content at the max level you are comfortable with.

    The way i handle it, is that i build up a bunch of crests over time, as i get my normal loot rewards from M+ progression and then when i feel like i don't get anymore regular upgrades, i just dump all the crests on the gear i want to keep. Bingo, the system have worked and i did not have to really acknowledge it at all Give it a try.
    May the lore be great and the stories interesting. A game without a story, is a game without a soul. Value the lore and it will reward you with fun!

    Don't let yourself be satisfied with what you expect and what you seem as obvious. Ask for something good, surprising and better. Your own standards ends up being other peoples standard.

    A lot of confusion would have been avoided if they were just called "mythic crests, heroic crests" etc but I guess that isn't lore friendly enough

    Valorstones punish you for getting too many upgrades which is stupid. It's very noticeable on alts you start playing a bit later in the season, but also anyone that gets more than one myth track item per week. Anyone who has gotten a myth weapon and another item in one week knows the pain of farming 3k stones.

    There are already several caps in place to cap character progression. Stones shouldn't exist period.

    Doesn't the new coloring scheme achieve jest that?
    Also, that naming scheme would've been misleading, because, for example, "Mythic Crests" can drop from Heroic bosses (eg last two in Nerubar this season).

    You would think so but somehow people still can't figure it out.

    Though admittedly those are people who don't try and probably don't stick around long anyway

    This system is great tbh, you get a green and you are able to upgrade it? Whats the bad part about it? It's not so stale as gearing was before.

    I agree they don't serve a purpose, but another funny point is that this late in the season they suddenly don't matter because you just kinda craft everything on alts to use up sparks, which doesn't take any stones lol

    How would you adequately reward people doing 4 difficulty levels across 4 types of content with just 2 currencies? Do people doing Heroic Raid get Valor, or only people doing Mythic Raid? Difficulty is ramping / tiered throughout content now. Also providing milestone, tiered gear progression in place of the rolling slow nerfs over the course of a patch to content. You can't just hard pump low currency into high and max a weapon early... you have to reach an ilvl milestone on each slot before you're allowed to consolidate. It effectively means a lot of content is some sliver of valuable to people at higher end via currency upgrades, while people at the lower end can focus on tasks at their difficulty level to reach higher milestones.

    That said, the UI for exchanging them sucks. Needs to have an independent UI that outlines and clarifies it, not just doohickies on a vendor.
