It's not about taste tbh. Big fans of warcraft and blizzard music, like I used to be, stopped singing it's praises after the fired their very talented music composer and started outsourcing all of the music for the games because it was "cheaper".

widely known fact that the art/music in wow is overall one of its best aspects.

don't like the music as much since they kicked out russell brower. dude was a master of his art. in particular creating actual ambient background themes.
since then, they're becoming more "foreground" by being more and more pompous with each expansion, if you know what i mean.
peak repulsion is the boralus theme. they tried to recreate the stormwind vibes and missed the ball by a huge margin.
