First time delving this season today (15/03) brann dies pretty much every single pack as tank, I can easily dps down the mobs but he is pretty useless, I was eevelling my delves from 2-8 today, every tier he was garbage.

these big swings back and forth just prove that blizzard has no idea what theyre doing and dont do nearly enough internal testing.
It's pretty simple, really:
If you play DPS -> Let Brann heal.
If you play Heal -> Let Brann tank.
If you play Tank -> Let Brann DPS.
I feel every complaint about Brann here stems from players that don't know how to utilize Brann correctly. Brann is NOT self sufficient tank. He's more like a classic tank: In need of a healer.
honestly, yes but also no, they can't do all the testing possible sadly, do they need to improve internal testing sure, but they can't also be slamed across the face with that they have no idea what their doing, because and i'm going to go ahead and guess, your not a game dev, and no i'm not a game dev either and we as players sees things very diffrent from what blizzard sees it.

Yeah for me healing is not throwing potions randomly and when i don't need them. follower dungeons can heal you, in quests when you chose what spec they have based on the weapon, they can heal you (that furry fox for example in BFA), FF14 healers can heal you.
Brann is ***ing useless as a healer
so no. i won't be playing like that. And as a hybrid, healing brann on and off hasn't been an issue i'd rather do that... than have him heal.
i'd rather solo it than have him heal
Sounds good. However with ppl saying how crap dps Brann was in S1, I still go with him healing..be it me as a tank or dps.
That said...at least for T7 and T8, it feels the delves are doing waaay below the recommened ilv (but I admit I only did it on a Protadin, Vengeance DH and fury warrior) - did them around 10 ilv lower than recommened.
Anyone with Curio suggestions (though just trying out different combos without having a guide is also fun)?
It's always your prerogative to play the game as you want. Just don't complain that delves are too difficult for you.
On a side note: Those potions stay on the ground for a pretty long time. Just run over them when you need them.

In season 1 I used DPS brann when I was healing to try to get him to tank. Which honestly is pretty hard, since healing pulls quite a lot of aggro. Luckily a priest has ways of ignoring that.
Yes, delves are not hard and you don't need much gear to complete them. It just might take a few minutes longer and you might have to mind your pulls. I do 11s in 620 gear (well, it's 630 by now) and before the Tank Brann nerf I did them with <600 ilvl as a healer.
Curios... TBH I find them pretty well balanced and not that useful this season. On DPS I like running the Biofuel Rocket gear for the increased move speed (well, and haste, but that effect sounds better than it actually is). And as a combat Curio I use the pocket factory, mostly because I got it to 4 early. But be careful: That thing pulls from anywhere and everywhere. Through walls, floors, sometimes I get enemies teleported to me from I don't know where. But at least I see its impact
The Bioprinter is also fun, but I don't have it at rank 4 yet.
I think this season you can just use any Curio you like. For example, I hate collecting those small curiosities, they give such a small reward that I can't be bothered. So I won't choose Curios that interact with them.

Nice - I actually thought Delves would get crazy hard from lv 9 on and that warranted the nerfs. Yeah, I pretty much do them leisurely and basically don't die...but I also haven't tried them on a mage or priest, classes that I am not to comfortable with.
Thanks for the curio insight...I tried the one where you can kick bombs, but it sounded better in theory, so currently it is indeed also the one that marks mislaid curiosities and I use the 3 mechasaur curio.
The new Undermine delves feel especially easy...and the new stories in existing delves, like the Dark Iron Dwarf and his mole machine in Earthcrawl mines or the drills in Fungal Folly were just so uneventful on T8 that I checked several times I wasn't on a T6 or so by accident

Hmmmm...maybe it is because my plate dps can also take some punishment (other than a clothie, maybe) but I find his heals pretty reliably, between the potions and that healing matrix. Sure, they might be a bit off sometimes, but for that I have my own potion if needed or a little self heal. That emergency pack however always lands when I am being dumb and on a 3 minute timer, you can be dumb a lot.
The drill story in Fungal Folly (the one you have to collect batteries) actually was pretty hard for me to heal. The final boss, that wolf, hits Brann HARD. As an evoker you only have so much spot heal and sometimes Brann is not able to hold aggro of the adds.
I mean for most folks yeah that's accurate but...
If your a dps that has good self sustain or you overgear the delve then dps is a good option but 9 times out of 10 yeah you want healer Brann
Tank Brann is definitely only for healer classes like there is 0 reason to have tank Brann if you aren't a healer his abilities legit depend on you being able to heal him
