Question Why can't I be better than 1500?

What makes a person like me, not beeing able to be over 1500 rating?

Is that because of low motivation, not beeing focused, not beeing asian, not spending enough time, wrong addons????

Have you ever been in the same situation? How did you overcome this?

It has to be you not being asian. Can't think of any other valid reason.

Probably low motivation. WoW used to have a satisfying gameplay loop of Raid to get good gear > Go stomp noobs in PvP with your superior gear > Rinse and repeat. Fast forward a decade or two later and with all the dumb decisions the devs have made (healers can't be dropped in 3v3 without dampening, everyone has the same ilevel, all classes play the same, etc) it's impossible to enjoy PvP anymore.

RBGs still have some appeal but the logistics of getting a decent team together is more trouble than it's worth, tbh.

Usually a combination of all of those, but mostly the asian part. Start with being asian then work the rest.

It's now about your skill rather than stat checking people = dumb devs and impossible to enjoy.

It's the start of the season, so no rating inflation yet. That means 1500 is middle of the pack. PvP also works the same in most games that don't have a luck factor. You win and you stay, you lose and you go. So over time competition gets harder.
If you want more rating, play more, if you find something hard, try playing that in pvp and see how people counter you.
Being Asian helps of course, it's the only reason I managed to just barely squeak by and get the glad mount once

I’m going to pretend this is a real question. The reason people don’t improve in any PvP situation is almost always that they aren’t learning from mistakes. Record your gameplay, rewatch it, identify things you do wrong, correct the behavior.

Have you ever had a higher rating. Maybe you are just..average...you know...like the rating and the "average" people that make up most of the game..and the world

Do you have everything binded? Do you use focus macros to assist/interrupt, etc? what's your partner rating ? is your comp viable ? have you analized what's causes your loses once you reach 1500 ? are we talking about 2 or 3v3 ? do you comunicate by voice?

There are many factors out there which can help you get over 1500.. but once you hit a certain rating gear and comp setup is the biggest handicap whatever your skill is.

Low motivation and not being focused is my guess for your case. You should care enough to be able to climb. From my understanding this digit is where pvp stops being a fun late night button masher with friends on discord. From this point if you care enough you will start dedicating time and focus to macro cc predicting stuff, understanding matchups etc. etc. etc. And it just so happens that at this exact moment pvp stops being fun and becomes stressful salty CC reaction simulator. Grab a mug of coffee and farm some transmog, this ain't worth it.

upd: person above has mentioned macros and yea this might be a thing in your case maybe to get a bit past 1500. Back when I played it "/arenatarget 1 or 2 /cast interrupt" was mandatory. It might be that you should spend some time figuring this one out as well.

Ironically skill mattered more when gear was less common and healthpools were lower. Making gear a non-factor in PvP just created an illusion of a level playing field, but in reality simply made the game annoying for better players since noobs run away from every fight the moment they lose 20% of their health.

Before the noob got globaled (a just demise) now they'll take away about 30-40% of your health and the fight takes a minute rather than 10 seconds.

So yeah, dumb devs and impossible to enjoy, unless you think a shit player should be able to resist a glad at all.

People left to play pvp are mostly folks that have been doing some sort of arena or rated bgs for 10+ years now, if you try to get in casually you will get stomped.

I assume it is what I call the Call of Duty situation: the game is old/well known enough that you are left with the pro/hardcore crowd, so your progression goes from smooth to a screeching halt as soon as you got to the tier where players go from casual to veteran without any warning. I call it the CoD situation because, when I tried to get into CoD ranked 10+ years after the first game released, I got absolutely mutilated and ran away crying.

Also PvP is not the main focus of the game, so fewer and fewer people take part in it. The pool of newcomers is shrinking; or at least, it feels like that.

just keep at it, become a master of your class and spec, it takes time and alot of practice, thats the secret, playing alot

lol 1500, why even play at that point

as a multi rank one player I will tell you I have insane focus, insane mouse and key speed, and being able to know everything that’s going on at every second during 3v3 without even checking. It seems like since the beginning everywhere people struggled I didn’t. This game is not worth trying to become good because people with natural talent are gonna be 100 steps ahead constantly

If you play arena for years and can’t get rank 1 then you’re just not good, and from my experience most rank 1 players suck as well, so it’s really not that hard, I don’t even know why people play a game they’re not good at just to humiliate themselves as the actual good players coast through 3000+ rating matches without trying, or at least I’m not trying
