Anyway, I agree that the first two faction-ideas are very likely. I can see some kind of Farstrider faction for the Ghostlands, too. Expeditionary, and consisting of multiple former High-Elf factions.
How do you suppose they de-instance quel'thalas and add it to the world map without a whole of Lordaeron? Maybe it's wishful thinking to want everything north of Thandol Span, but they DID already do Arathi Highlands and at the very least Plaguelands must be updated to remove mountain barriers.

And Alliance Trolls would be an interesting shake up and I'd roll my first ally character since MoP. Though that means they'll probably have twice as powerful racials that never get nerfed.

I think we both know that Blizzard doesn't do the easy route. Always a lot more effort then you might expect. Arathi Highlands is already updated twice in recent years. Once for the Warfronts and again for Plunderstorm. And we know that Blizzard is updating old assets as well. They only do that if they want to replace existing ones. Also the quality in terrain design would too big if the Plagualands isn't done and Quel'Thalas is. It will be a bigger difference then between Tanaris<->Uldum or Wetlands<->Twilight Highlands. So a simple de-instance and stitch to the mainland is not what they are gonna do. They will go the extra mile and give us a proper transition between old and new. And why not updating the stories and such while you're at it already?

I think new-Quel'thalas will stay in its own instance, like any new continent that we've gotten except for Cataclysm zones.

Ain't gonna be alliance trolls. The Amani were just as much the enemies of humans as they were of the high elves. It wouldn't make any sense.

Alliance Naga would make more sense than alliance trolls.

My go-to for if there were going to be Alliance trolls were always the dark trolls who are in that state of 'probably dead but ambiguous enough they could be brought back if need be', as, frankly, the dark trolls are the only ones that have ever had semi-positive interactions with the Alliance, in so far as 'fighting to protect Hyjal' can be considered one

Amani? Absolutely not, they hate the Alliance

Horde Forest Trolls - Alliance Naga is a playable race pairing that I never thought of before. To be honest it sounds interesting, though I can't help but wonder if playable Naga would go the neutral route with two rival tribes joining the factions.
