Better answer would be that WoD Classic doesn't get release at all. It's the most awful expansion of all the time. Content drought, terrible features, borrowed powers, and all of that. Honestly, I prefer the Burning Crusade Classic over this.

It's going to probably release as part of the progression servers, though I'd be very surprised if they didn't change anything or fix people being camped up in garrisons

I think we'll see some light changes but I think people expecting completed cut content, major systems changes, etc are going to be disappointed. I think it's more likely WoD launches without additional content and just has an abbreviated schedule - maybe 12-16 months total compared to the around 18-22 we've been getting.

Honestly, as long as LFR and flex raiding stay rotting in a pit where they belong, I'll be happy. I really, *really* like the protocol system as a means of letting people get the "welfare epics" tier of gear. It keeps raiding distinct and ensures raid teams/guilds remain valuable.

WoD was a great expansion. Excellent raiding tiers, very good leveling, nice and fun class gameplay and the new zones were amazing and I liked garrisons even though it was a solo player experience. I would love to replay WoD in a much faster content cadence and they could release some unfinished content such as the Shattrath Raid, I mean, they spent so much time on creating a new raid in the marginal SoD, why not in Classic WoD to bolster the experience?

WOD isn't that bad if you do a few things that are actually just naturally going to happen. Pace the raid tiers so its not sitting around as dead content for months and months on end like it was originally. Why? The raids are great, but even great raids get lame and boring for endless pointless months. The next big natural one that will happen is you won't have an actual phase about a selfie camera and twitter integration. Don't get me wrong the cam will appear, I doubt the twitter thing will, but it won't actually be full phase of content like it was originally. Next expectations are going to be lower and the leadup won't be filled with broken promises like it originally was. Sure plenty of people will remember but plenty of people won't care that much anymore. Time heals BS like this and shadowlands happened to come along and take the cake. Then ok, are garrisons going to be a problem? Yeah, they probably are but as long as the time table of the expansion isn't you know.. forever.. the last damage from them is shrunk. Also I don't they they are going to have garrison app where you can just mission table all day at work, on the can, or watching TV meaning the damage also lowers. Will things be lonely? Yeah. As lonely as most people are in the game already. A few checks and balances on numbers can be done as well, but as long as they don't keep the expansion rolling FOREVER most the damage is contained.

I really don't get the hate on WoD, I remember having a great time in WoD. It was when i transition from a very dedicated player to a casual player, and WoD was perfect for that.

I liked the flex raid, i could easily join pug. Killing 1 boss in a bad pug wouldn't waste your tag for the week if your group disband.
I also liked the personal loot, makes it easier to gear up an offspec.
Speaking of loot, i really like the ability to reroll the chance for loot on some boss, if you really needed that weapon or trinket.
And even if you already got a piece of loot from a particular boss, you could always get lucky and get a slightly better version, with more stats or a gem slot.
I did enjoy the garden in my garrison, especially when i could choose what plant to cultivate. It was never easier to show up for raid with all flask and potion needed.
The follower mini game was useful, earning some gold and sometimes a piece of loot that may or may no be useful.
Also great to finally get a legendary. I was never the right class or the right spec for the legendaries of the past expansion (sulfuras, thunderfury, shadowmourne, val'anyr...)
WoD also introduced mythic + dungeons, which turned out to be a very popular game mode and an alternative to raiding to progress your character for PVE
Also, not a pvp player myself, but i did enjoy the Ashran pvp zone, once they fixed the lag in the zone.

Look, the only reason players hang in the capital cities are the bank and the auction house, outside of that, might as well log out wherever you are in the wild. If you really want to force players off their garrison, disable any access to their bank or AH in their garrison (or their mount if that exists).

Ashran was great and I wish it was in Mists. I also wish they'd tune AV to require more of the actual AV objectives like all the hand-ins and stuff by making the NPCs a lot meaner and more threatening.

I hope flex raiding stays gone, because like LFR it makes guilds a lot less important. But Mists' problematic gear upgrade system is still in, so maybe they're just going to fuck guilds over by implementing flex raiding anyway.
