By the looks of it it's the certain extremely casual posters thinking it's just the addons preventing them from raiding on CE level.
Same with the rotation helper thing. Certain extremely casual individuals acting like this is the thing that will elevate them to CE level.

CE level raider here and yes, the discrepancy between having someone in your guild that can write an addon to trivialize a mechanic and those that don't is a serious issue. WoD's Mythic Archimonde is an example of where the addon arms race got out of hand leading to api restrictions.

But for these people not having a person to write an addon for them is the least of their issues.
We're talking about people who aren't raiding but think they would be playing on CE level if it wasn't for addons.
They aren't one boss short because they don't have a guy to make them an addon, they have never stepped into a mythic raid.

Even most HoF guilds just take the addon packs echo/liquid/method/northern sky etc. release after the race.

Exactly what I said, write it. We had one of our guild members trying to code an addon for wrought chaos during Archimonde progression before it had been released.

Progressing the last mythic boss at the same time with Echo and Liquid is even further from being an issue to the people we're talking about...

Why do people who can't mythic raid even with addons care so much about this?

No amount of addons will allow me to raid above group finder normals/HCs so I don't bother with sims or addons.
The place I think it's truly a big problem is PvP, way more than PvE. Addons aren't just a barrier to "be better" they are a hard requirement for even entry level arena play.

Yeah pvp is definitely its own beast and has an actual barrier of entry made of addons.

So being needlessly aggressive when people correct you that they're not getting rid of cosmetic addons is kind of ridiculous, especially given you then said:

They explitly siad they want to restrict any combat related activities AddOns can do, but cannot do it before the base UI has reached bare minimum functionality.

So combat AddOns will die, it is just a question of when.

I didn't say it will be hard for the players, I said the race.

If max can't sit back and have expert addon builders carry the workload, the race will have a lot more downtime as they try to figure out mechanics without the assistance of addons.

Lords of Dread would have been amazing to watch.
