They will add new hero talents which are passives that just change the way your active abilities work. They will continue to revamp existing talent trees to keep them fresh. They are absolutely not going to add a new tier of talents in the tree though if that's what you're asking, it would be a nightmare to balance when they're still trying to perfect the current trees.

Ranged Illidan spammed shadow blast, flame burst and summoned demons. If that's the playstyle you want, it's already offered: Warlock. An actual ranged DH spec would have to play nothing like that, would revolve around throwing glaives and even at that point it probably feels too much like a hunter for it to be worth their time.

druid is easier to demonstrate, "shapeshifter" spec split into feral and guardian, while "naturalist" would split into balance and resto
would have potential to go for new things like warlock could have spelcaster spliting into affi and destro and demonology split into mass summoning (current demo), and enhancing himself with demonic abilities, allowing him to tank
kinda like last epoch?where you can spec in to the others but not all the way

In another thread I proposed a opitional server called "Madness Realm" where your character could do everything "or almost everything". Imagine the option of adding 5 more skills from other classes to your class. I've thought a lot about this. My Hunter MM Dark Ranger (BG pug specialist) would definitely get the Rogue's perma-stealth, the Rogue's Vanish, the DH's Fel Rush, the Mage's Blink and the Warlock's Fear. You could even kill me but you'll have to find me and after you find me you'll have to catch up with me. haha

I'm thinking they will add more hero talent choices. If they can give each spec two hero talent choices in a single expansion, like they did in TWW, then they could easily double that in Midnight to four choices for each spec. Meaning just adding one more choice each seems highly plausible to me, since that's only half the work they did in TWW.

It isn't the beginning of the end for players who want to play the regular way.
The creation of the "one button" comes to reduce the entropy of skills and make things easier and more accessible for Generation Z and Alpha (who love things that are easy). I find it difficult that the choice to make the gameplay easier (less complexity) can go hand in hand with the choice to create more talents (more complexity). It's either one thing or the other! I like the idea I read here that suggests putting the essential talents in the spellbook as base skills and then we will have space for new things in the class and spec trees.

At the end of the Soul Saga, if things are more or less like the image below, that will be fine with me.

My assumption would be that Midnight and The Last Titan will take us to level 90 and then 100, with the Hero Specs growing and getting adjusted.

I think we'll probably see the hero specs drill further into the hero fantasy, maybe with more transformed skills and maybe choice nodes or active capstone abilities.

They might also scrap or rework some of the existing hero specs that failed to deliver on fantasies that players want.

Then, after the Worldsoul Saga, they'll do a level squish back to 60, compress the existing talents down, bake hero talents into the core leveling experience, and add a new row of talents for levels 60-70. Maybe then they'll do new specs for every class or something.

Yes, we will have new talents in Midnight or later. They will make slight adjustments each expansion, but I am not expecting a giant overhaul in Midnight.

kinda like in vanila, you could go all way into one with few points in other trees, or you could go part of the way in each
