Hrm....
Goodbye, Dark Heart. Hello, Voidspire? I know housing it a big feature this coming expansion, but I hope there's more to it than just a fancy crib for Xal'atath...
What did we learned from this video?. What is the "Spoiler" on it?. For real, why Blizzard WoW ingame cinematics are always like this?. They don't share anything important to the plot that could tell us about the main villian actions and reasons.
I'm so tired of these cinematics with no real content on them, other than something random happening on them without a complete explanation. Xal'atath manage to accomplish....what?
The emotion the artists put in her face at the end was something else. I don't think they have ever managed something like that with these cutscenes before.
I also really like her theme.

Basically, yeah. A lot of their usual cliffhangers have gotten more "look at pretty movie" instead of any substance. I feel the only purpose of the video was to say the collected void power stuff is out of the device now and that she does evil things (killing a follower, shocker!).
For years now, Blizzard struggles to properly write characters. Their backstories give the vibe of seasoned warriors, THOUSANDS of years of experience, with deep reasoning for their actions... But the cinematics and writing makes them edgy teenagers with repeated novice mistakes/actions. They're just constantly failures that whine or get some unearned victory for plot reasons. It's just insulting when literally a little bit of work can make it far better.

There goes all the theories about Xal trying to get all the cosmic forces contained within the Heart.
Turns out it was just a very powerful battery.
Not exactly a compelling revelation.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Just lol.... power-puff girls had better story plot than this.
i know blizz dooming is fun but just for a second.. does anyone actually know whats going on here or what xalataths plans actually are? i legit dont fucking know but kind of want to know

Pretty sure no one knows outside of the stereotypical villain stuff of trying to rule everything. Same thing as the other old gods like N’zoth, Y’shaarj, C’thun, and Yogg.
I’m just waiting for Iridkron to pop up to help us kill her just to move in as the next big bad, or she wins and he shows up to take her out so he can rule and we just happen to survive because of it.
Illidan: for 10k years...
Xal'atath: for 100k years...
Another future 'even badder baddie': for milion years... ?
Why does she use Azeroth (?) years exactly?
Aside from being evil for evil's sake because she is a villain, she wants to claim Azeroth's Worldsould for power, like every other cosmic villain ever.
Honestly if it weren't for the feet pics, people woulnd't simp Xal half as much they do since she is so generic evil villain under it all.

forget this cinematic, I want the Sylvanas one... primarily because the audio bugged out and I wanted to hear it

This is part of the translation convention in fiction - concepts like measurements are translated for the convenience of the audience, and made into round numbers. This avoids the uncomfortable situation of "I have waited for 98,891.37 Azerothian years!" or, alternatively, "I have waited for 100,000 <insert planet>ian years!".
Just one of those suspension of disbelief things, same as with idioms etc. that are rooted in a particular culture. No one should be using words like draconian or martial either, as those are derived from the names of figures from Earth culture (one historical, the other fictional) that these people should have no reference to. But it's just annoying to constantly police this, so we ignore it.

A classic WoW villian story where their back story can be somewhat complex and deep, but the things they do now are just so meh and shallow.

If we can understand the villain and their motives or atleast know more of their past we could atleast make sense of it or root for the villain.
When a villain doesnt believe he is the villain, can make for a very interesting character. Get behind him or understand him.etc.
Guess who lacks this?

I find it funny that Xal needs a random ethereal to power up her Dark Heart
"Damn, it's not at full power, I am 0.000001% short! Oh, this fool will do the trick!"
