It's going to be funny if housing flops.
I mean, i respect different preferences but Blizzard should focus on updating the open world constantly ( yes the old zones as well ) with meaningful content and reasons to go out in the open world , not squeeze the player in an instanced area with fancy props sold on the cash shop.
I am assuming (although don't know for sure) that housing features do not include options for profession activities? Meaning no forge, fishing pond, tailoring objects, herb garden, etc. Like they did with garrisons. I know they don't want players spending all of their time in their house but offering amenities like that would make them more amenable.

According to WoWDB, there are currently 51 Draenei themed items in the game. Thats more than: Zandalari (35), Undead (35), Tauren (35), Pandaren (46), Kul Tiran (37), Goblin (45), Dwarven (49), Gilnean (34) and Dracthyr (46). Not even counting races like Vulpera (2!!!). For a race that's not that popular, it's really a stretch saying you were done dirty. Yeah, a big part of Draenei themed items are crafted, but 1) prices will go down; 2) you can craft them yourself. You're comparing them to Blood Elf, by far the most popular race in the game; and with a style that suits many other races (all other elves or people who want a home with elegant look). Draenei items are super niche, because the style doesn't suit well any other race.

I'd guess they will do it at some point and sell it as a patch/expansion feature. They've just started with housing, a new evergreen feature (or even a new pillar of gameplay); and I think they don't want to give us everything up front.
Let me stop you right there because you clearly didn't read the post. You just saw the title and assumed I was mad about a lack of items. I don't really care for repeating myself any more than I already have so I'll just quote my previous posts:
Next time, read the full post, not just the title. Hope this helps!

Posts like these remind me how critically out of touch the players are with how games are made, and what an evergreen feature is.
Wrap it up guys, this ongoing constantly-updated-for-the-rest-of-the-game's-life feature is cemented permanently as a failure in its first iteration because of Blizzard's choice to focus on the 4 most popular races first, which accounts for ~45% (almost half) of the entire playerbase. Instead of his personal chosen race, which is moderately popular yet only 3% of the playerbase.
What? We'll get everything he wants and likely more later, as they've created a pretty solid foundation that's easy to iterate on? Nah, its cemented as a failure. Permanently. What, this is an ongoing live service game that will absolutely evolve and change, especially when considering the overwhelming feedback regarding certain things like acquisition costs for furniture? Nah. Cemented as a failure, permanently. In 21 years from now, housing will look exactly as it does today. The entire feature has FAILED.
Sure are a lot of ancient posters in here... Uh, anyhoo, I hadn't realized the Draenei didn't get much furniture. However, if you're a big Draenei fan "since 2007", why the heck haven't you already done the Draenor content? It's all about your people!

Are Humans and Orcs popular? I can't see why they would be other than social cues. And I wonder if all races should build from the ground up rather than focusing on some races first.

I have? But you'd have to be an extreme masochist to have bothered with reputation grinds during WoD. You young 'uns wouldn't get it since you weren't there, but the game was in a tailspin and playing it genuinely felt like investing in a dying product. It was the first time (out of two times total) I closed my sub and didn't think I was ever coming back.
