Show Off Your Housing Creations Megathread

Seems like it would be a fun idea to have people post screenshots of their innovative housing choices. Let loose your creative style and give others ideas on how far they can take the Warcraft housing system. Wonder if we will get holiday decor items for this time of year. Trees with lights, ,snowmen, icicles, pumpkins, a giant fountain with flowing pink hearts...

Are the trees added by you or did they come with the plot?

    It is finished. For now.

I am completely maxxed out on the 200/200 exterior item decor limit. I used up I think 188 of the 200 exterior decor item limit just draping the horde house in poles and triangle curtains. I wound up having to use 4 of the free house window attachments (3 of them positioned in the back out of sight) just so I could skimp on some curtains so I would have any space left over for some additional decor in the yard. Really hope that the 200 limit gets lifted soon so I can add some barrels or a cattle pen.

For the interior, I am at 350/1155 decor item limit. I have checked out every decor item in my housing catalog, and looked up the database for items that are obtainable in this patch. There are a few items could grind rep for, but overall it seems that mostly everything else worth getting is crafted. The cheapest decor right is a potion that costs 9,450 gold, and everything else is 10k+. Those prices are a little nutty right now to be buying a lot of to try out let alone buy in bulk, so I'll wait a few days for things to calm down. I am hoping to find a way to increase the illumination of my hearth at the ground level. I stuck a hidden candle inside the fire, but it only increased the illumination by a little and only in a small area, not the whole room. I tried hiding a max scale chandelier underneath the floor, and it massively increased the illumination but I couldn't get it to actually stick there. Can't keep anything clipped below the floor like that.

I wonder if Blizzard would ever consider a contest for user submitted homes where the winner (voted on by either staff or players) could be used in game as a quest hub or npc dwelling. Because I could see these outshining a lot of cut and paste buildings in game (especially in vanilla/tbc)

Yo bro I literally HAD to log in just to tell you how freaking cool that build is. Jeez, next level. I thought you were trolling at first but that looks as good as something in game blizzard could do. I cant imagine how much gold that was haha. Jeez.

It was overall relatively pretty cheap. Almost everything was stuff you bought from the neighborhood decor vendors for 50 to 150 gold per piece like Gronthul. All 75 curtains and the 44 beams and pillars were purchased from Gronthul for 50 gold a piece. So 6,000 gold for most of the interior/exterior structure, and then 75 Holy Oak Tan dyes for all of those curtains which cost 100 gold a piece on the AH, so another 7,500 gold. Almost all of the decorations inside like the floor rugs or the pillows etc are also bought from Gronthul for cheap. Only the Tauren Bluff Rugs and a couple of the Highmountain rep items were not from Gronthul but were also pretty cheap. I think it wound up costing around 15 to 16k, which is what one unit of most crafted items on the auction house are going for right now.

I added the trees. Once you buy the plot, all the clutter gets removed and you start with a base house with no windows.

Here's my horde and ally one so far.

A lot of stuff is placeholder and still trying to figure out a foundation for each I like.

Also not a fan of the 200 exterior cap. Way too easy to max out.

    Nicely done.

I do hope the housing feature keeps going strong, and not comes and goes with Midnight.

Decorating the house is kinda annoying because you have to run all over the world for these items, and many people just don't have time for it or cba with it.

I did the quest. So I guess I got a house. And that's about as far as I'm going to get.
The feature just isn't for me, I find doing old content and collecting stuff incredibly boring.
I'd rather play Manor Lords or even goddamn Cities Skylines 2 if I ever need to scratch the building/decorating itch.

I hate to say it but every house I've seen so far looks super samey. They really should have given us way more decor right off the bat. Every house I see, it's just the same small handful of assets copy-pasted all over.

I mean it's not like you should go all over the world just collecting everything. You build something, get to a point where you realise you need something specific, go get the specific thing, come back and continue.

I think one of the biggest traps people fall into is leaving things just full size. With the exception of chairs I think nothing of mine is 100% scale it's either smaller or larger.

A lot of stuff is designed with a certain race in mind and I think a ton of people just place items at full size instead of adjusting things to be all about the same scale.

I think that really makes a lot of the difference (well that and non-linear pathing through your rooms)

I'm not sure I agree with that, with all the stuff you can get I think there's a ton of variety. I think the main things that could make it feel samey is the walls. A lot of the more ornate wall skins are really difficult to work with, particularly when you want to create things like faux windows or nooks in closets. I think they need to tone down the "ornate-ness" of the archways on those between rooms.
