Basically this is against what most people want. You know, this is with everything. Races, archtypes etc. I personally would like more awknowledgement. With hero talents I also missed this. Great I am a templar, but it doesnt say anywhere for some one else, nor is it really defined what that exactly is. Same with Vindicator, its a cool name that you wwnt to show, but instead we have to guess what people are rping. I understand the "leave room for own interpetation" but it honestly doesnt help in wow, were costumization is at its lowest. No, I would like MORE tools and names to use and set myself apart more.

If this was a race, it would be darkfallen, sand trolls all over again imo.

It wouldn't work. This idea is actually nothing new and people have been asking for this for many years, however Blizzard had multiple times stated that they simply don't wanna do this, because to them that people know what visual affects do what and having for example different visual variants of a BoP could be an issue, mostly in PVP, but also in other content. That's why they've added so little customization in this area over the years, the Green Fire option from back in MoP is still the one that people talk about.

IMO Blizzard should still do this and disable those visuals in PVP and for people in the open world who wish so tho.

Something like that would maybe work in very few specific cases like Void Elf Paladins with void animations instead of light.
It's more interesting than anything you've posted here.
The idea of being in an MMOC guild, with a bunch of perpetually angry/terminally online man-toddlers who hate the game but are too addicted to stop playing it, sure sounds like a fun way to play WoW.

I'd love class / race specific cosmetics and that's sort of what we're having with Trading Post with the Sunwalker's mog. We'll have hero skins when we'll have the transmog update for spells which should come pretty soon and here's the reason that makes me say so :

-In a recent interview, Blizzard devs told that they would like to expand the new transmog system to specific toys (Probably stuff like hearthstones and portable mailboxes, Darkmoon fire wings or butterfly wings from SL), to new transmog slot (probably neck with all the scarfs / bowtie and stuff) AND spells. And we already know a blood elemental is coming to Classic.

-Which makes me come to the second point : The Classic Blood Elemental. In the last patch, a full ven'thyr mog was datamined and is flagged as Store content along with a ven'thyr organ and a ven'thyr bat mount. My guess is that we're likely going to have a full cosmetic pack with the first cosmetic spell, coming as a toy first, then changed into a real cosmetic element in the transmog tab.

-Despite Blizzard's commitment to add spell cosmetics for Druid and Warlock in Dragonflight, they've completely stopped to add new content even tho they had really big contenders for Warlock pets (void walkers of all type) or druid form of all kind (loas, maul using bear animations, pangos ...). We even had a pango changing toy with a 10 minutes CD and 1 hour buff, which is so rare for this kind of toy it really feels suspicious. Some will say that Blizzard is just not bothering anymore since Amirdrassil was a heavy druid patch, they've focused a lot on them and then they didn't gave a fuck but I don't agree. It was one of the patch's major success.

I also think this is also one of the ability prunning's reason. People would buy less spell visuals if they are less likely to use said spell.

I'm definitely a big fan of these. I wish Blizzard would do something along these lines - I'd be more than happy with even sacrificing a new class in TLT if we could get these.

In particular I like the concept of the Steam Infantry for Gnome Warriors. It always felt kind of off to me that a Gnome Warrior would be able to stand toe to toe with the likes of an Orc or Tauren unaided but putting them in a mech solves that issue.

I remember back in vanilla, people were pitching similar things as “prestige” classes. I think the design space has moved away from it, though.

I love this idea and all the thought that's gone into it. I agree, this is what hero talents should have been.

I think I'd be curious about goblins and pandarens next.

Would mechagnomes have different custom than the gnome are would you give them the same ?

Great work on the visuals once again. Some of your choices remain a bit odd to me, butvgreat thinking over all !

    Incredible work.
I love how lore accurate you are.
    Wouldn't mind seeing this in-game.

I appreciate the work that went into these. Dwarf and Kul Tiran are my favorites.
I would play the KT Druid until the servers were shut down.

How long did this take to make?

Writing the text and creating the graphics was a matter of two weeks; what took the longest—about four months—was the process of coming up with ideas and quests.

It doesn't aim to add RP at the cost of breaking gameplay, it is a purely visual customization option which is how it should be handled.

As long as the RP is optional and does not interfere with balance, I don't see any problems really.

As for the soft Hero Talent revamps, I think they're quite in line with the template that's already been established. It keeps the same gameplay and only swaps visuals and ability names, as Skins should.
