Good to know I'll get the Portal Pass stuff again this time around.

Can't wait to sit in Stormwind on my Netherdrake and get /spit on by people

Also what the news post doesn't tell you is the standalone boost is 60 bucks.

And the Portal Pass is 20 bucks, assuming you never got anything the first go

I wouldn't worry about that, given that /spit just emotes spitting on the ground when targeting a player since mid-Shadowlands.

    Too inefficient..

Watching people lose their minds over maintenance delays is pretty good entertainment. You can really tell which people never matured a fucking bit in the intervening 20 years.

$60 is pretty fuckin wild for character boosts, but if they know people will pay it... hey, why wouldn't you? I would, too. Considering you're still probably looking at ~60 hours to get to 60 even with TBC XP changes (since the world record speedruns are in the low to mid 70's for most classes), if you have more money than free time, it's still not an awful deal.

I mean, not sure what your trying to say but it takes little time to make an emote macro that you can spam to your hearts content.

Yeah listen if thats your thing and you have the scratch then whatever. Time is money and IF you would be actually making more money with that time spent leveling but want to be able to still hang with your no-life buddies that never grew up and matured then why not shell out the dough.

This is still way too expensive

Guess to do that, you have to be in-game...and to be in-game, you pay a sub. So...that makes you also a "yacht enabler"...."friend" - you just can feel morally superior, because you only enable a bit

Awful argument. 15$ is enough to keep the servers running and along with the box price, to keep new content coming.

20$ for a mount? That doesn't make much sense. What's it for? They certainly didn't spend that many resources on these two mounts so that they need to sell them for 20$, especially since we get so many of them for free in-game.

The boost is even worse. Why is it 60$? Did the people that program the boost work so hard and spend so many resources that the service requires to be sold for 60$ just to make that money back?

Doesn't matter if you think my argument is great or awful. At the end of the day, you only get to decide how many dollars are "enough" is by voting with your wallet and live with the fact that others might disagree.

Apparently Microsoft (owning Blizzard now, right?) expect something like a 30% increased revenue from some departments (like x-box) - and we all can go "greedy bastards....10% would be more than enough..." - and what else can you do than hating them and not buying from them...as hard as that might be for some.

I mean...I understand the frustration and I understand that people just don't want to hear the tired "if the market allows the pricing" line.

The trick is to acquire enough gold to convert into B.net balance (or game time), allowing one to point the finger at everyone else spending real money on WoW tokens! There's plenty of people out there (myself included) who have used this method to stop spending actual money on WoW for years... might as well use the systems in place to take advantage of those who feel like spending all their money on MTX since we know it's not going to stop.

As you said, the market is allowing the price due to the players who spend real money on the game, so as long as people are willing to spend the money there's no reason for Blizz to lower prices. Gaming market has enough "whales" to make MTX a viable strategy, and for WoW in particular there's probably enough sub-"whale" people to pad the finances even more. At this point, it's easier to just treat WoW as a mobile game to some degree, whether we're talking finances or the content itself, and take advantage of the systems in play to minimize what money you do actually pay.

“It's not an endlessly expanding list of rights — the 'right' to education, the 'right' to health care, the 'right' to food and housing. That's not freedom, that's dependency. Those aren't rights, those are the rations of slavery — hay and a barn for human cattle.”

Yeah idk I just feel like it would be all too easy if you wanted to pretend spit on someone in game and you were intent on doing it then it wouldn't be hard to find a workaround.

Yeah..doing that myself..I am on a 12 month sub, but haven't actually paid for the last 2 years. But the people who are on ...let's say "the other side of the discussion" wouldn't agree, as you (and me) participate in a system, where somebody wlse needs to buy the token with "real money" to put it on the AH. Not sure, where the fact applies that I could then convert my gold bought token into actualy money. Probably because Blizzard takes a cut and because it goes into the b.net balance, meaning I have to spend it on products.

What a cringe thing to say. But thanks for taking the time to type it out mate.

You are welcome. It is hard to accept the truth, I know. Your sub (and mine of course) supports the yacht as well...there is no way to wiggle out of this.
