Yeah absolutely. I still remember when back in the day earth was more of a thing. I remember my very first shammy was an Orc and I remember doing that quest to meet the Earth elemental.
Since then I have played many Shaman and when fit hit the shan I would pull out my earth elemental to tank the mobs and wished there was a whole spec devoted to this kind of thing.

Not every class really has room for another spec and.... Look, from a marketing perspective? New classes are going to get far, far more eyes on a game than a new spec. Love Guild Wars 2 and all, but the addition of the Revenant got people a lot more hyped than them rolling out a new spec every expansion
The survey's pretty clearly got a few things in mind
1: Add non-DPS options to the pure DPS classes. Healer hunter, tank rogue, healer mage, tank warlock, and the alternate option in a few of the surveys of tank mage.
2: Fan-mentioned additions. Shaman tank is the most popular submitted spec ever, DK is clearly a riff on necromancer, even the healer mage one falls in here again as chronomancy healer spec has always been a popular idea that SoD ran with for a bit
Frankly I'd prefer a new class any day of the week over slotting a new spec into every class, especially those that don't need help
Ok. I don't care about marketing perspective. I get no benefit on anything WoW marketing.

But the difference is that they're not working from scratch on equivalent of 4 new classes at once. One new spec for existing class doesn't equal new spec for non-existing class.

funny reading some of these comments about which of these specs would work...SoD had shaman and lock tanks (and I think rogue as well) and they all worked just fine.
I like the idea of Shamans using Earth to tank, but what I'd really love to see is Monks get an Earthbender DPS spec where they use Martial Arts and Geomancy to throw around boulders or smash giant pillars of rock to spray pebbles at their foes. I loved the 'Earth' Panda from Earth Storm and Fire, and always hoped they could make a Spec or Hero talent around that aesthetic.
To be fair, seeing that there's only 1 spec for each class (except priest, but Supp is clearly Disc) and knowing Gladiator also exists, I kinda feel this survey is only to see which ones they should prioritize, and if there's any of them that get virtually no votes or negative feedback in case they gotta come up with a different idea for that specific one/s.
I would've liked Tank Hunter too, but thinking about it, if they just swapped Raptor Strike for Cobra Shot and Takedown for Barbed Shot, and gave BM Aspect of the Eagle and Hatchet Toss, we would have a perfectly cool Melee BM which could even be made into a Tank Spec, while making Survival a Ranged Spec again, which would fit and feel better with its current gameplay anyways, same for BM. And if they're up to reworking Discipline into a Support Spec, I'm betting they can do this too.
Not only that, if the Healer Spec for Hunter is about your pet healing you and others, lets not forget BM is the only Hunter Spec that can currently tame Spirit Beasts that heal you, adding more to the possibility of BM Tank. And they'd also solve the issue of players wanting to be a Melee Dark Ranger too, now that Dark Arrow is a separate spell and could be used in the same way Explosive Shot or Serpent Sting have been used till Midnight, with the Crossbow they gave Hunters for that exact reason.
As for those who want a Bard Spec, you already have it. It's Holy Priest. It's always been Holy Priest. All the bards you see in-game are cloth users who use Holy Hymns and barriers to heal, just with a Lute as a weapon, which would be a cool Toy or Off-Hand to have, yeah, but spell-wise it's low lvl Holy Priest. Just like Harvest Witch is low lvl Resto Druid.
This is just Shaman Tank. Yeah, with martial arts but even Chen says that "Storm, Earth Fire" is a Shamanistic spell when you do the Enh Artifact questline back in Legion. I would've loved a Chi-Ji spec tho, with fire and holy light, maybe a Support or a second Healer, buuuuut again, that's just Priest, specially now with the new Specs. Would've been cool if the Supp Disc rework included somed of that Melee Holy Monk they wanted for it during WoW's Beta, but I guess they have no choice but to make it ranged at this point.

We don't relaly have a telekinesis spec/class in wow do we.
The mage spec would have been a good place for that, but more exciting woudl be Star magic class, like the once surveyed Astrologer, - that uses star magic, gravity collapses and things like that - taps into the Night elf/Nightborne and void elf star magic fatnasy and can weave in telkinesis too, as you're manipulating gravity and it's arcane magic based so you should be able to move objects.
Shaman class is another place telekinesis can work, through manipulating air magic and earth magic too. Druids would be able to do similar although at this point in time, while druids can affect air/water elements for spells like typhoon and hurricane, their control isn't as precise or fine as say a shaman or a mage would be. Shaman would use the elemental's control of air to move objects or whatever element to move stuff, while a mage/Astrologer would magic the object/manipulate gravity.
Either way i like the soudn oft hat, a star wars esque force moving objects is always cool.

These are the specializations i see possible for the World of Warcraft classes:

Monk and Shaman are generally quite interchangeable, but I want the Monk to jump deep into the Earth Storm and Fire (Chen's ultimate ability in WC3/HotS) sub theme.
Nothing wrong with Shamans, but they'd be tanking with weapon and shield, This is why I said the Monk variant should be DPS, so there is more of a difference in both look and feel. Kinda like how Frost DK is completely different to Frost Mage even though they both use Frost magic for offense and defense.
