    Midnight Pre-Patch Extended Maintenance - January 20, 2026
    Blizzard has announced an extended maintenance for the Midnight Pre-Patch in North America, lasting approximately 8 hours from 7:00 AM PT until 3:00 PM PT. European realms will have a 10-hour maintenance on Wednesday, from 1:00 AM CET until 11:00 AM CET.

    Suggestion : Assume downtime is between 12-14 hours, ignore any estimates in tweets etc.

    It will reduce stress, go out and eat, touch or smoke some grass in the mean time

    People really need more than 1 job/hobby at a time. For real, is WoW downtime such a stress for people?. I rarely care about them. I wake up early on Tuesday and I have tons of things to do, than just thinking when to play WoW.

    Yes... yes it is.
    Nobody really has any authority to dictate how other people utilize (or plan to utilize) their time but it is always funny to see/hear/read some posts from WoW players who flip their shit when there is surprise maintenance periods or way longer maintenance periods.
    You get the the usual "reimburse game time!" comments, or the "I took off work for this!" and the like. It really paints the picture of individuals who carve out significant portions of their personal life for World of Warcraft. I

    And there is nothing wrong with that... fundamentally. It's their choice (and their money) to dedicate to that degree. Where they can most definitely find something else to do and not hold WoW in such high regard as they may, it makes sense for somebody who spends so much time playing WoW (and aims to do so) to have such reactions. It

    Going by the last maintenances...US is going down for a looooong time tomorrow, but EU will be fine. EU here btw.

    20 years. 20 years of WoW history, where every major patch and expansion launch has had extended maintenance... and people are still ShockedPikachuFace.JPG over it.
