Suggestion: Allow Dracthyr To Use Soar As A Ground Mount (If They Can't Already)

What I mean is, when in No Fly Zones, allow they to hover close to the ground, so Dracthyr can stay in Dracthyr form all the time if they want to. I was interested in Dracthyr because I liked the Worgens with their built in mount (Running Wild), so having a race that can do that but also with flying was interesting, but after finding out they are forced into Visage form when mounting other mounts, I was disappointed

Does seem a little silly to allow them to levitate like that, but I don't really care.
I am just commenting to clarify you can mount any mount in dractyr or visage form.

I thought Blizzard made it so you can only mount in Visage form because mounting in Dracthyr form would cause major clipping.

Nope. You could always mount in dracthyr form, ever since the beginning.

Especially since Soar was a very, very "poor man's version" of Dynamic Flying at the beginning. I.e. no rechargeable Ascend and Dive Forward abilities, had lower max speed than Dynamic Flying, and had a 5-minute cooldown that started when you landed.

no they're just using like the tauren size mount scale. the camera can get a bit messed up because of it but thats life playing a tall character to begin with.

you can use soar in traditional flying mode too

I really wish they'd at least remove the cool down on flight. It's completely nonsensical.
Sargeras is going to be the last titan and the rest of the Pantheon will die.

Yeah, like, I was under the impression that Soar was like Worgen's Running Wild (as in a built in mount) but capable of flight.

I agree that Soar ought to change so it can function like a regular self-mount (running wild), however I think I can explain the cooldown (which also should be removed now)
For most of TWW and Dragonflight, everyone needed to expend one Vigor to take off from standing. A small perk of Soar was the free takeoff when cast which didn’t consume Vigor. Since Vigor charges could recover about 1 per 10 seconds, Soar was stuck with a comparable 10 second cooldown.
Thanks to Midnight, all grounded takeoffs are free of cost.
Add this to the growing list of changes people want to see for Dracthyr.
