    Hero Class Idea: Dreadweaver

I will prelude this with this is entirely a fan idea and not what I expect to fit in any coming expansion and just what I think would be cool to see. This class I envision coming with playable Satyr whose main weapon will be thorn whips (I think whips could be a cool weapon type to have in WoW). They will dance in and out of melee slicing their enemies with their whips and weaving spells at their opponents.

As a Hero class a cool starting zone I think will be Teldrassil in its ashen form. As a place of nature that has been ruined and twisted it is a natural fit for the Satyr to come and take it over for themselves. The forces of the Satyr have often been about taking something nature themed and perverting it. The dark themed classes tend to be popular like death knights and demon hunters and a more sinister approach to nature magic i think would be cool. In this case I envision them not being redeemed like the death knights but instead working with the factions like the Illidari. But this time instead of it being for the greater good they want to be on the winning side and the Satyr finally see that the Horde/Alliance are the forces that will win in the end so they choose to ally with us.

    Baseline class

Nightmare forms: A perversion of the druidic forms that include a spider, snake and scorpion with a vulture flight form. I envision the forms more as different flavored metamorphosis CD that you can choose depending on the given situation instead of being in a full form the whole time. The form depending on what you need. If you want to slow and snare the enemy from afar spider may be your pick. If you want to add deadly poisons and coil around the target then snake is your pick. For a bit more tankyness the scorpion will come in handy.

Thornwhip: The Dreadweavers weapon of choice. They can use the whip to to pull themselves to the enemy or pull the enemy to them short distances. The thorns on the whip lacerate the enemy causing them to bleed as they are slashed at. Depending on what imbued magic they have chosen it can cause additional different effects.

Weaving: From their "druidic" forms to how they use their whip it is all imbued by magic based upon their chosen spec. Nightmare magic adds a damaging shadow over time effect. Blight adds a curse that slows the enemy. Blood adds bleeding that flare up randomly leeching health.

    Specs

Nightmare: Utilizing into nature magic twisted with void the Dreadweaver calls upon the Nightmare. This spec focuses on weaving damage spells and causing terror among the enemy. This would call back to the more traditional satyr like Xavius calling upon nightmare blades to shoot out from your location.

Blight: Tapping into the realm of Thros. the Blighted Lands. A sickly blend of nature and death they call upon the same magic as the Drust. Blight focuses on curses that debilitate the enemy. Calling upon twisted roots to grapple their enemies and to suffuse their strikes with souls to add more brute force to their blows.

Blood: Blood is a natural part of all things and but this magic perverts it. Focused on using blood as a weapon both the enemies and of themselves. The Dreadweaver can sacrifice some of their health to rain down spikes of blood at the enemy or sending out motes of blood that explode. With the drawback of using some of their health in their toolkit they can also leech health back from the enemy as they assault them.

That's it just an idea I think would be cool to get another brand of nature class out there and also another dark themed class.

If that triggers people then oh well.

I like this idea, though the blood specc seems least thought out.

I also like the introductory idea, but you should probably elaborate a little as to how the alliance and horde would accept/"accept" them, plus the general idea is that the player has at least some agency in regards to their characters' allegiances and backstory, so they would probably need to have received a more "neutral" starting point.

A bit like how Altrius represented the less-Illidan-ish demon hunters in example.
This is a signature of an ailing giant, boundless in pride, wit and strength.
Yet also as humble as health and humor permit.

Furthermore, I consider that Carthage Slam must be destroyed.

I mean, it just sounds like a druid tweaked with a bit of nightmare weirdness and a touch of DK.

They're not terrible ideas but there isn't nearly enough here to justify this being a standalone class.
The idea of being in an MMOC guild, with a bunch of perpetually angry/terminally online man-toddlers who hate the game but are too addicted to stop playing it, sure sounds like a fun way to play WoW.

    Soo Druidic DKs?
Everyone says they want good dreams, yet when they wake up, they've forgotten them, but... no one forgets a good nightmare!

Seems like this would fit better as a new Hero Talent option.

The Nightmare aesthetic is definitely something that's been missing, and I think Legion Remix really made me realize that. Basically just a single mount and some leather shoulders.

Though, personally, I'd prefer to see it in a new class that could also wield some of the other Old God themed stuff that we haven't seen in a while. Especially now that a greater distinction has been created between the Old Gods and the Void Lords and Xal'atath.

A sort of anti-Druid that harnesses the powers of the Old Gods: the Nightmare, the Sha, the Curse of Flesh...

It'll never happen. But I'd like to see shadow priest reskinned into a light spec and just throw a new dark caster out.

Theres enough ground within necromancy, Void and shadow and nightmare magic to get 3 specs surely.

For those with class comparisons a druid/dk/warlock in a blender and wielding a whip is a good gist of it. Then for different themes Nightmare & Drust magic is heavily underutilized and the colors for them are cool. I think spells with a black/red mix like the Nightmare would be sick. Dk does a lot of heavy lifting for blood but could always have some more ranged version of it.

Some sample abilities I've thought up:

Rose Dance: The Satyr performs a dance with their whip lashing at all targets nearby causing bleeding damage and additional effects depending on imbuement (shadow damage, leech, extra bleed).

Root Grasp: A root ties the player where they are and heavily slows them starting 70% and falling with each step away from where they started. Additional talents like a choice node to cause bleeds or an explosion if the root is broken.

Scavenger Call: Summon a nightmarish flock of birds that attack targets with bleed.

    Talent idea:

Nightmare Image: An apparition of the Satyr appears and repeats x ability at % reduced effectiveness.

That's what I was thinking. There is so much more dark magic than just the void by itself with many different flavors that could get used.

first we need night elf paladins and shamans, as well as blood elf druids and shamans, and evokers for both of these, also dreamweaver sounds like balance and restoration druid kind of
