Alot of Hunter armor sets would fit better on other classes.

Tier 1 Giantstalker - Warrior or Shaman.
Field Marshal pvp set - Paladin.
    Tier 3 Cryptstalker - Rogue
Tier 4 Demonstalker - Warrior or Death Knight.
A black version of this set was used in the Death Knight reveal trailer.
Tier 8 Scourgestalker - Death Knight.

Blizzard for some reason is having a hard time making hunter sets look like hunter sets.
I have seen many hunter players with custom made sets by mixing questing and dungeon gear together.
Alot of hunter sets also have one big shoulderpad and a smaller shoulderpad. What is up with that?

Beaststalker, Wyrmstalker, Yaungol Slayer and Savage Hunt are some of the better looking hunter sets.
Are there other good looking hunter sets?

The best hunter set I can think of, off the top of my head, is the Nighthold/Emerald Nightmare set.
The idea of being in an MMOC guild, with a bunch of perpetually angry/terminally online man-toddlers who hate the game but are too addicted to stop playing it, sure sounds like a fun way to play WoW.

The Rogue tier 15 Nine Tail set looks like a hunter set.

Hunter sets aren't based around the usual concepts of hunters in fantasy, but rather around the main creature type of the tier it comes from. So if you don't like the aesthetic of tearing skulls and other bones from random monsters and wearing them (and I don't), then most hunter sets are going to look like crap to you. They did one tier of "elven hunter" aesthetic in Legion, and there have been tiers where the aesthetic for every class was something (like "cosmic," the last tier in Shadowlands, IIRC), but Blizzard's usual concept for hunter sets is just "rip the head off what you kill and wear it."

For my hunter, I mix and match non-set pieces to come up with things I like much better.
That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die.
