Youre going to have to explain this one as every skill is on an action bar.

Yes, energy and combo points have been reworked, abilities have been changed and/or moved around/renamed, but all Rogue specs are still basically just energy based builder/spender specs with different names for the same abilities. The energy/combo point system just results in similair gameplay every time as long as you are unwilling to drown the class in DoTs and maintenance buffs like Feral has historically had.

Compare Combat Rogue in TBC Anni to Midnight. No, it's not the exact same thing, but the core design idea is still very much there. The same cannot be said for most other classes, which have had complete reworks and their entire design philosophy flipped on their heads multiple times.
As I already stated in this thread I have no idea about rogue and it's my least liked class by far (after hunter).

But, rogue is overall the least played class. In PvE even more than in PvP. Which makes sense given your explanation: A class designed for PvP and never really updated can't be expected to have wide appeal, especially in PvE. It was only widely played in modern PvE when skipping most trash was the meta in M+.

I can understand Blizzard trying to make rogue more appealing, since right now it's incredibly nieche.

That said, WHEN I see a rogue in my groups, they are almost always good players. Which maybe stems from the fact, that only experienced players play this class.
