Isn't there an intro scenario to Midnight like in Legion with the broken shore?

I haven't played the game for ages, but I still like to keep up with the lore.

I saw that Midnight has been released on early access, so I was looking everywhere for the intro scenario for the expansion, hoping for something akin to the broken shore.

is there nothing like this in midnight, where we fight back but lose or something? I've been looking at the front page here, and also on Youtube on Nobbel87 and Doronsmovies' channels, but I can't find anything.

Or does early access maybe not have the intro scenario, so that everyone gets to see it at the same time?

You fight off the invasion from Silvermoon in an intro scenario to start off the expansion. It's where the beam of light comes from that is shooting out of Silvermoon rn

The intro scenario starts with accepting the breadcrumb to be teleported to the Sunwell by Liadrin, in which you fight across the Isle of Quel'Danas alongside the Vanguard forces before getting routed by Xal'atath and being forced to fall back to the Sunwell itself, where the Paladins of the Vanguard opt to flood the Sunwell with Light energies to forestall the Voidstorm, setting up the leveling campaign that sends you across the newly-added zones and/or Arator's Journey.

Ah ok thanks. Weird how I can't find it. Is there no interesting lore added to it? No people dying?

I thought Midnight was going to be the "we lose"-expansion, where everything went horribly wrong but maybe I heard it wrong.

Apart from the lore he just described which sets up the events of the entire expansion?

I guess. I was hoping for something even worse than the broken Shore, where everything went even more wrong since I remember there being talks about Midnight being the "we lose" expansion, but maybe it's better if it starts off hopeful and just goes down the shitter as the expansion plays along.

Well, at the end of the intro cinematic, the sunwell is under threat from a giant void hole in the sky, and the only thing keeping it alive is the consistent maintenance from a revolving team of steadly-weakening Light users. Less of a "everything explodes and important people die", and more "we're the only things keeping the planet alive and we're getting tired"

Just play it yourself and find out. Or watch a YouTube video.

Well we arent winning rn but its WoW so inevitably we will. The start of an expac always puts us as losing ground or suffered huge losses since WotLK

I think the general arc of the Worldsoul Saga is a series of losses or Pyrrhic victories culminating in a final big win in the closing chapter of TLT. Like TWW, Midnight will probably end on a loss, or a decidedly mixed or Pyrrhic victory, which will then lead into the intro of TLT.

I think the "city gets destroyed and big lore guy dies in the first 2h of the expansion" trope is getting a bit old, so I was kinda glad when we just plugged the big hol hole in the sky and started the low stake "help the locals with their chores" part that always comes right after.
