Haven't seen everything but as far as I know - the Haranir are tied deeply to the Blood elves and Goblins thanks to Orwenya's quests in TWW - if it wasn't for the habit of sharing new allied races, without a doubt they'd have gone horde, - likely Earthen would have gone alliance, and likely Dracthyr horde - based on the stronger horde side representative presence and their leaders journey with Ebonhorn.
Just curious - i know they're really another night elf sub-race, same as Nightborne - I really do love their customisation and lore, as I did the Nightborne - though the latter was loved because they were the kaldorei empire visualised in game I have always liked too.
Haranir are well done, but even if you make them look as Troll like as possible, they still feel more and look more night elven - and you can get appearances that are better looking versions of night elves - at least for the males - females have nice faces too, nicer than a lot of hte nelf female faces just very big bodies.
Harandar - well I like the zone, a lot, however I don't like the colour scheme of the topography - the bestiary is incredible, the gearing of the Haranir too looks pretty cool - I'm just not sold on the shape and layout of hte mushrooms and the roots - was a lot more impressed with Ardenweald and Emerald dream - - kinda feel they should have used more colour shades, tidied up the mushrooms and maybe shrunk the roots a little bit more.
Let me ask you all this, does it really matter that this is hte case? That the horde has much stornger connections to the haranir? In fact does it matter ofr any new race at all?

p.s. I actually don't begrudge the Haranir being more tight with the horde than the alliance - it's story, let's see where it goes before judging, and I do not really begrudge the Nightborne going horde - for even the mere benefit of connecting horde fans to night elf lore again (for the first time since wc3), what I do begrudge was the night elves cut out of Suramar and the Nightfallen they should have had, and still have a major role in - that was bad from blizz - they could have still had that with horde having Nightborne.

Also i have no problem with the Haranir living in a cave called a den, and having hut homes, it doesn't deter my love for them in the slightest at all - this is how they are presented - their lore never gave them other things - for me to regret, I accept them for what they are.
I also accepted the night elves for what they are - the lore in both WotA and WC3 are equally valid - my biggest criticism for them is how everything but the druidism side faded in a lot of wow. Wow has all the night elf elements - Highborne, mage, demon hunter, priests, wardens, sentinels, druids - it has their great forests and their great cities [2 of them shown in their glory] , their new one and their ruins too - it's there - it's just the focus that's lopsided. Night elves were defenders of the WORLD - not just defenders of nature - that was the druid element of them. That defender of nature doesn't apply to priests, demon hunters, mages and civilians - also we seen so little of Priest night elves in power, same with mages - and while we have seen demon hunters in power - it's also quite rare. And despite the many showings of druids, they've all been timid too - so many problems there.
I don't have such lofty expectations of Haranir - Haranir have been shown for what they are - I will take that as there base. If they reveal more aspects and side to them I'll accept that too - however if they then 10 years down the line, start re-writing their lore and recasting it, I'll have a problem with that.
