    2026-2027 NFL Thread

Welcome everyone to the 2026-2027 NFL Thread

Where we discuss the 2026-2027 NFL season from the legal tampering days in March, all the way to the Superbowl of this season on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California with all the news and all the games that go on in between.

    Thread Rules:

There aren't many specific rules in this thread other than the normal forum rules that apply everywhere. We expect people to follow the spirit of the thread and the forum, mostly by respecting that every one has a favorite team and is entitled to cheer for them. Some banter is fine, insulting and trolling is not.

We also ask to keep the discussion largely centered around the current season and to leave in depth discussions about which team or player from yesteryear was better than which other team/player to threads made to discuss such a topic.

Let's start off with some things from last year's thread:

Ton of movement already early in FA.

WR Alec Pierce stays with the Colts
    Patriots sign DE DreMont Jones
Chiefs sign the Superbowl MVP Kenneth Walker

And a couple players staying with their old team last minute including a Raiders CB and Travis Kelce returning to the Chiefs.

Former Chiefs Corner Jaylen Watson signing with the Rams, who just traded for the Chiefs Corner Trent McDuffie. Chiefs suddenly with a deep gaping hole at Corner.

heh the Dolphins sure love paying QBs. Eating a TON of dead money to cut Tua and then just paid Malik Willis okay money

Demario Davis who was awesome for the Saints is going to the Jets. Lame. I get it though, dude just turned 37

Saints go from the worst punter in the league to one of the better ones

If you are a pass rusher, gratz, you just got PAID. Incredible amounts of money going to them, and that is WITH a super strong draft class of passrushers too.

Mommas, make your sons a defensive lineman.

It's early days obv, but it's interesting that the Patriots seem to have reverted to their Belichick days when it comes to Free Agency, and adressing obvious needs, but then also letting more free agents walk away into nice contracts then they sign, banking compensatory picks.

Will be interesting how that develops, cause Patriots definitely have some needs in depth at the moment.

Patriots signed the most talented Guard available...but he's available cause keeps getting injured. You always pray it works out, but this is especially important for the development of the 2 guys to the left and right of him. Need this dude to have the healthiest 2 years of his career the next 2 seasons.

Chiefs seem to be trying to repeat their first super bowl run, spending everything on offense and ignoring defense.

Dallas is collecting more pass rushers. Never a number one, just a deep list of decent ones.

Guard and Punter signings are very nice for us, not sure I like having the guy who can't even pronounce his own name correctly.

Bengals really traded a premium pick for someone with less sacks than Shemar Stewart

They traded a premium pick for someone 3 times more pressures than Vita Vea while being the most double teamed player in the league.
