Poll: Void elves should have??

  1. #1

Should void elves use Void storm architecture or re coloured Thalassian architecture.

Curious what you guys feel, If you've been to Voidstorm there is some cool void architecture around the zone, It's very voidy - now the void elves don't really have a unique architectural style, they are Thalassian elves, so it's basically the blood elf style but likely with different colours of purple and silver or purple and gold and maybe somethign else instead of phoenix spires or maybe they'd keep that who knows.

Would you prefer them to adapt to the Voidstorm architecture as a new home/zone or build with Thalassian architecture adapted for void.

Thalassian. They already seem to enjoy using either old High Elf architecture (Ghostlands v2) or their own Thalassian architecture (Voidstorm). I'm sure some fringe elves will want to integrate with Domanaar culture but I don't think it's the kind that they would gather under in a group large enough to represent, plus the Void architecture isn't really about integrating flesh and blood creatures.

Thalassian recolored is the most likely, otherwise void elf is probably super far down the list of priorities for housing. Dwarf and draenei would probably be the next potential house options and I think Bel'ameth is certainly going to be the next neighborhood.

They already have like, 3 aesthetics at this point. Presumably they'll just paint more of the old things white and blue.
confirmed by my uncle nitnendo and masahiro samurai

I tend to think of Voidstorm as having more of a Dominar aesthetic - craggy, spiked, decidedly alien, often a fusion of stone twisted into elaborate structures. The Void Elf aesthetic comes across more as its own thing, taking the standard Blood Elven or Thalassian aesthetic and changing the color scheme to silver/bronze with purple/blue and making it a bit more angular.

Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

hmm.. the gold and purple with white and black is more fitting.
@Aucald - don't know why they changed the purple and gold to silver and purple - aren't nighte lves moer known for silver and purple - so the gold and purple was fitting - no harm in having mujltiple colour aesthetics, but it looks like they've swithced to silver from gold ather than added.

The heritage armor is gold though and the first crest/symbol was gold and purple too - so not sure about the silver.

Also the grey/black is more fitting for their colour schme than white.

Night elf is white (moon/stars), purple and blues - silver also for the colour of the stars
    high elf was blue/gold/white
    Nightborne - white/purple/blues

blood elf - red/gold/black with some white
void elf - purple/indigo/gold/black with some white - or should be.

Void storm isn’t an elf zone. I failed to see why elves should care.

I mean, I personally prefer silver to gold and/or bronze, so on a personal level, I'm all for the change. I suppose purple/silver just further differentiates the Void Elves from the Blood Elves on an aesthetic level.

i liked the purple and bronze - but i also like the midnight blue too - I always thought the night elves needed that midnight/cosmos blue to represent the night colouring.

Arcane was represented by purple and silver in the night elves and blue to a lesser extent - though blue is also another colour from it. The chromatic silver/white - also the colour of moon and star energy we see in arcane spells as well as the purple - which is the colour of the Well of Eternity and the night elves - it is also the colour used for shadow magic though the colouring and effects change.

This fit the night elves well. Void elves do tap into similar themes - cosmos dark blue - is also night, but it also has stars involved.. so i understood the deeper/darker purple.

however the one used seems to be identical tot he night elves - and I'm surprised they did not lean into the midnight blue colour of the void more we see now - the colour the heritage armor and mount use ..... I really like that one.

I also like the Domannar black/bronze/midnight blue - i think that wold have been a better colour scheme to transition too.
