Not here to whine or anything I am here to see interesting solutions other than the ones blizzard use and not to see bunch of people just wanted to disagree because "my idea is stupid" you have a better one? Shoot do tell.. if not? Shut up and dont reply thanks.
So, you want people to agree with you and only post if they agree with you. If thinking highly of myself means I try to argue consistently and honestly and try to avoid obvious logical fallacies and recognize them in others, then yeah, I guess so. But I consistently engage in good faith with people who disagree in good faith. NineSpine & I have argued for YEARS over the state of WoW and we get along great. I guess even saying that is thinking highly of myself.

You're literally admitting that you created this thread for people to agree with you and those of us who disagree can fuck off. That implies that either you are incapable of arguing your point or that you are incapable of providing any sort of evidence that any portion of the player base would agree with you.

You've seen interesting solutions being proposed in this thread to modify the current system. Look at the exchange NineSpine and I had literally in the post you quoted you'll see a couple of iterations of possible changes/systems in that back and forth. But, again, you just want people to agree with you so you either ignore or dismiss any idea that doesn't end in the conclusion that "badges are good".

Be honest with yourself, at least. You started this thread expecting to have most people agree with you. You found out you were wrong and are now butthurt.

Edit: Also, what, are you 13 "Why don't you marry him", you're really making your point about how you are interested in ideas.

No? I even said provide interesting solution other than "disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing because my idea is stupid" or you didnt read that?

You can make friends with anyone here you want it is your life and yes the reason I didnt reply with Nine or you when you were discussing stuff because I see them as interesting solutions. I only reply to you now because you just disagree with me for the sake of that Replases ID guy just got disagreeing with me. As I said if you think my idea is stupid dont reply to me or argue with me because in your eyes I am just a stupid random guy and you have better solutions no?

I think they've created an elegant solution that combines rng, bad luck protection, multiple avenues for getting all but Mythic gear, opportunity for season spanning gear progression, and speed to max ilvl.

It works well, outside of Trinkets & Weapons, which they seem to not be able to balance; they're almost always the same BIS for like all specs, so there's too much competition and not enough opportunity to protect from bad luck.
Noooooooo not more systems on top of systems. That defeats the entire purpose.

The whole gearing system is wildly overcomplicated and has too many systems already, and that's on top of a content model with too many systems in it. It's an incomprehensible mess. This is the opposite of elegant design.

Even if it's just for a week, I think that would alleviate both the issue of old content having a tendency to become stale, but also give a light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel for the people who are on generational mount farms. I'd also be a fan of them simply removing all old cosmetic exclusivity, including CMode and Mage Tower appearances. Put it behind a questline that takes a year to complete or something, but don't keep this stuff exculsive.

Honestly, I could get on board with this. Because it really is a generational amount of mount farming. Some people (like myself) are so deep in farming some of these that I will feel no joy when I get it, but I've sunk cost fallacied myself into it, and frankly I DO want it. But it will be probably 80-90% relief when I get it and not 80-90% happiness

Yeah, we just disagree about the current system. Complication isn't bad if it's the minimum level of complexity to meet all the goals. You want things to be as simple as possible WHILE ALSO accomplishing your goals.

I think they've done better with this iteration than ever before. You don't. I think there could be minor tweaks by adding things, but those are minor improvements. It's great as it is.

It's elegant because it balances all those factors I referenced better than ever before. Simplicity is not elegant in itself, it's only elegant in itself when it gets to the same goals in a simpler manner.

My solution does get to the same goal, and it does it without fifty moving pieces.
