Lightbulb Shadow Priest & Caster Rework: Visual Weapons & The Void Pet System

    Introduction:
With the evolution of Midnight and the upcoming The Last Titan, it’s time to modernize how Casters interact with their gear and how the Shadow Priest identity is defined. This proposal focuses on two pillars: Visual Clarity and a unique Pet Management system.

    1. The "Hidden Weapon" & Magic Auto-Attack
Currently, Casters (Cloth, Evokers, Balance Druids) carry staves/daggers that feel like "stat sticks" rather than tools.
The Idea: Add an option to Hide Weapons even in combat.
Magic Auto-Attack: Replace the physical "swing" with a minor, resource-free magic projectile based on the spec’s school (Shadow, Fire, Fel, etc.).
Customization: Allow players to toggle this via an invisible buff or the Barber Shop. A Destruction Warlock with Green Fire should shoot Fel bolts automatically, not swing a wooden stick.

    2. Shifting the Voidwalker to Shadow Priests
The Voidwalker is made of pure Void energy. It fits the Shadow Priest’s kit better than the Warlock’s Fel-centric theme.
The Change: Give Warlocks a "Lesser Infernal" as their default tank pet. Move the Voidwalker to the Shadow Priest as part of a new "Void Entity" system.

    3. The Shadow Priest "Single-Pet" System
Shadow Priests should have access to three permanent pets, but only one active at a time.
In-Combat Constraint: 2-minute cooldown to swap or resummon in combat.
Out-of-Combat: 1-second cast time for easy adaptation.

    The Three Entities:
The Void Tentacle (Ranged DPS): A mobile "Void Torrent" turret.
Insanity Interaction: It spawns on your shoulder/back. It disappears if the Priest takes damage equal to 70% of their health (breaking mental focus). Spending Insanity increases its damage threshold.

The Void Aberration (Melee DPS): Constant pressure.
Unique Mechanic: 100% of the threat generated by the Aberration is transferred to the Priest (tactical positioning).

    The Voidwalker (Tank): Pure survival.
The "Fumado" Mechanic: Its Threat/Aggro scales with the Priest's DPS.

Healing: An instant spell that consumes 100% of current Insanity to heal the Voidwalker for 70% of its HP (proportional to resource spent). No cooldown, but it costs your entire burst potential.

    Conclusion:
This isn't about making Shadow Priests "Warlocks 2.0." It’s about making them Void Tacticians. By removing the visual clutter of weapons and adding a high-risk/high-reward pet management system, we create a truly modern RPG class for the final chapter of the Worldsoul Saga.

Assuming this isn't some weird bot post or something, the Suggestions & Feedback forum is for website related issues and suggestions. There is an entire forum section for priests here.

Moved the thread there for you. Feedback and Suggestions is just for the website not the game.

I am very grateful , and I regret my mistake.

Then again, this is not a Blizzard forum so weird place to give class feedback to begin with.

Blizzard's forums are only accessible to people with an active subscription (and I'm not currently paying for one), and from what I've heard, they sometimes get ideas from these forums.

Probably better off on the subreddit then this place is a ghost of it's former self
3 Major Rules of World of Warcraft Players:
    1. No one on earth wants to play World of Warcraft less than other World of Warcraft players.
    2. The desire to win>The desire for anything else in World of Warcraft. NO EXCEPTIONS
    3. Efficiency will be king no matter how you think it will improve the game.

I agree this should be a customization option for those who want it.

The Voidwalker is way too iconic for Warlocks, Blizzard would never do it.

This would never work. You take that kind of damage literally all the time. Play any current dungeon or raid and either just pay attention to your healthbar or check logs after. This health-based restriction would basically mean this pet has like 5% uptime at best.

Why does it need a health-based condition anyway? You didn't put one on the melee version and it's basically the same thing, except in melee range. Nobody would ever play the ranged option if it constantly despawns and the melee option doesn't have the same issue.

I'm talking about permanent pets, meaning those that remain on the battlefield until they're eliminated.

The Void Tendril is precisely one of the pets I'd make permanent for the Shadow. The Thing from Beyond could easily function as a reskin for the Voidwalker, obtained through glyphs or at the barber shop.

The demon form was also iconic for the warlock, and yet they gave it to the Demon Hunter, taking it away from the warlock. There was controversy about this, but in the end, we all accepted it because, ultimately, it suited the Demon Hunter better than the warlock; I think this could apply to what I'm suggesting.

Regarding the Void Tendril on the shoulder, now that you mention it, it would be much better if it were a regular pet, not on the shoulder, and its life force wasn't tied to the priest.

I appreciate your comment and especially your respectful way of offering your opinion. I know there are things that could be improved in my idea, and I would like us to create a near-perfect idea for the priest together .

Caster magic attack sounds good not only for priest tbh. Pet sounds more like warlock actually and tank sounds more like DH. Im not sure tbh. I like the etheral void form casting enormous shadowy spells.

I've always loved the idea of a class that ACTUALLY tanks with a pet. Not barely making it work with an overgeared warlock or hunter, but a class designed for it.

Similarly, pets have been available to priests for some time, but not permanently. Having three permanent pets, one of which is entirely utility and the other two barely noticeable DPS increases, all Void-themed and with only one or two abilities, would significantly differentiate the priest from the warlock. This is especially true if the warlock's Void pet is removed and replaced with a customizable Infernal, leaving the warlock with five demonic-themed pets that are irreplaceable and essential in combat, while the priest would have three pets with low damage output, completely dispensable in moderately difficult fights. It would be like the Frost Mage, but with more pets and less damage.
