Exclamation Unlock transmog rules for weapons!

I still don't get that with all the options we have now, to look like a decked out knight OR a barely naked beach-goer, you cannot transmog certain weapons.

Now because you go 'Well you can't transmog a staff into a dagger' ... sure you can... or at least post-legion you could!

I remember Shadow Priests still having the ability to transmog any 2h staff they had to Xal'atath, which was a knife and offhand.
    Same for Demo warlocks!

I believe Warriors now have the ability to transmog everything they want, given they can use it - which seems like the way to go!

If a warlock can use staffs, daggers, 1h swords and wands, they should be able to transmog into all of those. Not 2handers all of a sudden.

And sure, giving warriors and paladins a 2hand/shield-combo would be awesome, but I understand that something like that would be harder.

However, the other idea works... for warriors!!! So just unlock it for every class!

    Who's with me?

I don't see why they don't let you mix and match robes and plate too.

You can still transmog your artifact regardless of your equipped weapon type, by the way. You just have to select the Artifact Override weapon category.

I'd be in favor of Blizzard adding additional weapon override categories. Some people have been clamoring for 2H enhancement for ages, or "gladiator" warriors or paladins, and this would be an easy way to provide it as a visual option if nothing else.

Fury Warriors can transmog 1H weapons into their 2handed weapons this was mostly made as a consolidation since Single Minded Fury just doesn't exist anymore
Arms and Prot still have restrictions. Arms still has to transmog 2H->2H and Prot can't transmog a 1H->2H or Shield->Not Shield

As to why its still that way. Blame Hunters...probably Rogues too. Rogues have a lot of animations tied to having a Dagger in 2/3 of their specs and well a Hunter doing their best Link with full health impression and shooting arrows out of a 2H sword would be peak...probably isn't high on Blizzard's to do list
3 Major Rules of World of Warcraft Players:
    1. No one on earth wants to play World of Warcraft less than other World of Warcraft players.
    2. The desire to win>The desire for anything else in World of Warcraft. NO EXCEPTIONS
    3. Efficiency will be king no matter how you think it will improve the game.

Transmogging daggers with other 1H weapons and vice versa has already been fully unlocked. I have a transmog set up for Enhancement that is wielding the new Dagger glaives from the trading post. I've also transmogged daggers into swords on an Assassination/Subtlety rogue alt.

I'm pretty sure skill animations are entirely unchanged regardless of weapon type, but it's possible Auto Attack animations still change with weapon type.

Like Unlimited Power already said, Rogues can transmog daggers to swords or maces and still have working animations. Nothing breaks and still looks great.

For Hunters, you can transmog into any ranged weapon, so no issues there.
If you're implying that they should also be able to transmog bows to staffs, they could simply lock it. It's not vanilla anymore where everything is a hunter weapon.
